This, I agree. Too many times, when the artist wants to create a OC artwork, usually anthro type, it usually comes off as show-off-ish, an and can be grating to the eyes especially if the purpose of creating said artwork is to merely make onself feel good rather than go through a thoughtful process of bothering with good technique and tasteful imagination (this varies wildly depending on artist personality as well).

I guess that is because too many anthro stuff were sextualized with some very bizarre fetish, that with strange gender issue and with some unclear made up species.

"Freaky Is Sexy" is apparent applicable to such a genre, but a handful of anthro artists - at least the more sane ones - will tell ya that sexualization is usually due to a vocal minority.
(I personally believe otherwise, but that's because I talk with both artists and the audience who appreciate such things.)

I'm going through the white cats anime now, I rather enjoyed K.O.Beast all 7 episodes of it. Mostly because of Wan.

So far I think Kogenta's show was thinly veiled toy material like many great (al dente) cartoons/anime over the years and while I like these characters and enjoy there development there is the tiresome repetitive and overall uninspired scenes if rather well animated which we see literally in the animation and played out tropes we all know pretty well.

Why this is less entertaining then new animation is seeing things done differently and naturally Luffy for example enters gear 2 a different way each time in context with his environment for that clip, sometimes he will just horse stance and pump both legs, sometimes he will just pump one limb in mid air and lash out, in Taisenki however the animation while consistent and smooth features the same power up's and 'big attacks' time and again and it's really not what I watch the show for.

Nor are the fights, they bear the marks of the direction taken of never having to be creative, just play that awesome move on that blank-ish background you guys always manage to fight in, oh and Kogenta blows everything away with something flashy nearly(every?) episode, instant gratification every week! whats not to like, right?

*groan*

I'm sorry I want an anthro anime with some substance.

*sits down and watches more Taisenki*

Does Hyper Police count as anthro anime with substance?

(On the subject of Taisenki... I agree, the stock animation used is very frequent which is distracting.)

I don't know, I'm unfamiliar with it at present.

I think I'll hunt down the manga if there is one.

Cute characters, was the show they were in worth its salt?

Depends on your tastes and preferences, both feature really good animation quality, though the finale of the OVA series for KO Beast was kinda shoddily handled because of a sudden tone shift, while Onmyou Taisenki - though having key moments in character development - seemed to emphasize very heavily on combat sequences which tend to be quite long and therefore can wind up being very exhaustive to watch in one go. I personally don't prefer one to other for I see them as anime from very different time periods and appreciate them for what they are (in their respective eras and not be too bothered by their flaws).

I remember another mecha anime with cat-people too... I forgot the name, but had two humans landing in jungle place and encounter 3 cat people...

I myself am not even sure about it. But the first thing that comes to my mind (and possibly it being a wrong guess) would be VS Knight Lamune 40 & Fire, a TV anime series that's a sequel to NG knight Lamune which featured the main hero - a bot -piloting a mecha named Kasier Fire and bumping onto a secondary team consisting of 3 dog people (who are drawn like cats, strangely) piloting another mecha named Graf Thunder. I presume that the mecha looks like this? pansengtat.tumblr.com/post/696…
