i got mine in erie, i'm 17 and there you can get one when you are 16 with a parent. i live in ny, but you have to be 18 to even get one there. one of my friends that lives in florida got one when she was 13, it just depends on where you live. if you type in "tattoo laws" in google, i think there will be a link that will let you see the laws according to the state.
but when you do decide to get one, whether you have to wait or not, you should try to think of getting it where it would hurt the least. at first i wanted it on my stomach, well under my bellybutton, so that would be more of the pelvis area, but i'm glad i got a trampstamp bc OMG that would KILL
