They say you're too young,
that you don't understand,
that it isn't what you think it is.
The they say how they were
young when they met, and the "knew".
when they describe how they felt.
Inwards you nod and agree
with how they say they knew
and you're sure you know.
But, you and i can't be right,
we're "only kids", and our priorities are wrong
we put friendship then school
instead of school and studying,
with being social as "extra"
They "know" better than us.
how WE work, how WE think?
They were already kids, now it's our turn,
can we live our lives, our way?
No, no, once again our judgement
is clouded by youth.
we aren't thinking it through
We don't know what love is,
We don't know how to prioritize,
We don't have a single IQ point
and we don't ever use our brains.
Our parents say they know better,
but i think that they aren't
