He is the Aztec god of art, dance, song, and music. As Macuilxochitl, he is known as the god of games and a patron of the strategy game, Patolli. Xōchipilli is the "prince of flowers" He is considered a god of love and in particular a patron of gay love and the male gender. His twin sister, Xōchiquetzal, is the Aztec goddess of beauty and love.
More recently, Xōchipilli has taken to wandering North America performing as a male stripper known as Aztec. He has long felt unmoored and adrift since the fall of the Aztec Empire, though he predates that civilization's rise.
