Approaching Flynn and The Smoothie, the black-shirted goon said, “See, you should have just giving us the code from the get go. I would have listened to my friend here and we’d have let you walk out of here unscathed.” He chuckled. “But now we get to do things my way.”

Flynn felt a sinking feeling in his stomach.

“See, we don’t really need both of you. We just need one of you to give us the code.”

“You’re assuming we both know it to begin with,” The Smoothie said.

“Oh, I’m willing to bet you both know it,” the black-shirted goon said. “So we’re going to have a little fun.”

The security guard stepped up behind Flynn with a key to unlock the handcuffs.

“We’re going to give you two a chance to decide which one of you gets the privilege of giving us the code.” The man chuckled again. Pointing his guy toward The Smoothie, he said, “See, I’ve seen this guy fight before. A scrappy sort. High pain tolerance.” He paused for a moment as if remember the fight he’d witnessed. “So the two of you are gonna fight for us. The winner gets to give us the code. And the loser…”

The black-shirted goon seemed to look right at The Smoothie. Then he laughed.

“Well,” he said. “We’re gonna f*** with him. And if the winner holds out on us, we’ll give him the same treatment.”
