Description back: next:

The Project
My fiancé and I are working on the project of making a wolf fullsuit. It should be wearable for days, to go on a Live Action Role Play (LARP). But we want to do it with different Addons, like stilts and when its possible Anmiatronics inside.

This is the third step of a little photo-walkthrough making the mask for my manwolf.

Design & Claws & Tail

Materials
Clay model from the first part of the Walkthroug, latex-milk, flour, latex pieces for the anchor, (aluminium) foil and plaster bandage

latex
I mixed the latex-milk with the flour that it was nearly like cake mixture. With my Hand was the mixture brought on the clay. I had to look out that there were no holes. Then I put the anchors in.

plaster
Then followed to add the plaster bandages to one half of the face. When it was dry foil followed on the edges. Then came the second half of the face.

When everything was dry I took the negative off. The clay-model (which wasn´t hard/dry when I made the negative form) was nearly unharmed.

Oh that, a friend made it.
It´s dental plaster covered with acrylic paint, based on a headcast.

I dunno if I would have used latex as your main mold material... You'll want a release agent when using latex. But other than that, looks like it's comign right along

Yeah, I was unshure myself, but I had heard of it as a cheep possibility so I decided to test it. Well it worked out quite good enough, so I didn´t test other materials like Alginat and Silicone.

I've always favored silicone since you don't need a release agent, holds details a little better, and lasts a little longer. But for a first time trial run, latex is always a good item to use.
