I've never really done fanart of classic characters, Chun Li seemed a good place to start ^_^Originally she was going to be throwing a kick, but I altered the anatomy so she was throwing a punch because when I started to sketch her details out I realised the leg was obscuring all of her trademark outfit aside from her bunches (which I wasn't sure I would get exactly right) and her infamous 'spiked donuts' which I knew I'd probably get right as when I was a teen I drew everybody wearing spiked donuts after Chun Li
Anyhow, hope you like what I've done with the gal

And in SFIV, they seemed to be a little dull as well.
But I still loved her look. Wish they had the Alpha chunners in SFIV.

It's what I didn't really dig about SF4 (outside of it being 3D and the fact that I can't afford the setup for any of these new consoles xP), it seemed to retcon a lot. I like the style, but it's got this 'SF Alpha never happened' feel I don't really like. To me, given the radical overhaul they gave everything else, a little redesign, maybe new outfits or a choice of some of the old ones for characters that have had a few designs would have been cool.
And I wish that the Chun Li movie had actually been a proper movie project with a budget and a decent cast, not some full-length Walker Texas Ranger episode monstrosity xP.
As to SF3, One PAL release and it was the freakin' Dreamcast <_<. Not that there's anything wrong with the DC, but anyone who's still got one that works and enough money to buy the games given how rare any of the good ones are now is a very lucky man xD. A reissue wouldn't hurt.

I think the game did have some tie in's with SF Alpha. But not alot.
And Sakura should be around her 20s though. However, I think fans woulnd't have been to excited if she wasn't dressed in her classic outfit. However, they also seemed to change the death on Charlie from the Alpha game.
Apparently he was with Abel, then died. But yeah, they seemed to change a few things with the story.
I believe since Capcom added the new fighters (Cammy, Sakura, Dan), they had to change the original story a bit.
Cause I have the original intros to Chun-li, Guile & Cammy.
And my family worked for Fox Studios. They had some budget problems, and couldn't work everything into the Chun-li movie.
With DBZ & Wolverine, they hardly had any cash to spend on all three to make it good.
And the movie felt rather dull. And the bonus DVD wasn't to great neither. They seemed to have changed the timelines a bit with the story.
And the voice overs were kinda weird. And Chun-li semed kinda more meaner then what Capcom makes her out to be.
She seems more like a nice person in the games, but in the comics she always looks pissed off.
I'd love to play SF3 again. I think Capcom could make another collections game featuring SF2, Sf3 & the Alpha games.
I'd like to see one out for the Nintendo console though. Since Sony & Microsoft already has collection games.

*nods* It's gotta be tricky to reboot a franchise like that, and I know what you mean about Sakura. Although Namco managed alright with Xiayou...though noticeably they've done barely anything to alter Nina.
I'm sorry to step on your toes about the movie. I did film and animation at university and I know how that can go down. Still, seems with those three lined up against each other, would have struck me that SFII's got a larger fanbase than X Men and DBZ put together, and hasn't really got even a basically decent film behind it that's not anime, so might have made sense to plow more money into the Chun Li flick. I don't understand the casting of Kristin Kreuk. There are thousands of Chinese movie actresses, not soap stars who already do martial arts to high levels, why cast an american actress whose primary claim to fame is a high-profit family action drama on TV? And yeah, why make Chun Li a hardass...doesn't make sense to me xP.
I'd rather not have to play SF3 on the Wii though. That controller is godawful for controlling straight videogames, I've been playing Bomberman for nearly 12 years and it still took me at least 5 games before I could control it properly on the Wii. I would've thought I'd break the thing trying to play a fighter on it. Honestly, I rate the Gamecube and the N64 completely, even if the game collection's heavily weighed toward 'family' titles, they're still wonderful systems to play on (I'm actually playing my way through PN03 atm on my GC), but I just don't ever feel in control with the Wii.

I still thought the Chun-li movie sucked though. Dispite I'm a big fan of her's, the movie was just terrible.
And they could have made a better choice of actress. Kristin was only 1/4 chinese. Why not use the same girl from the Dragonball movie to play her role huh?
And Udon does some things right, but alot wrong as well. They took out the Alpha story, as if nothing happened.
But I do think SF3 would be bad, you'd need the classic controller to play it.
BUt the old school fighters are still quite fun on that console. KOF was quite fun. And SF2 was good as well.
But I guess I could just buy the collections game on my XBox 360. Though I'm not sure if it plays that game since I heard the 360 only plays certain Xbox 1 games. T.T

She looks very limber actually and despite it being a static drawing it does very much give the impression of motion. Also liking the sort of coy smile that's hiding just off the corner of her lips too.
