Description contrast in colors and contrast in concept....one is bright and full of vitamins..the other is dry and cracked, burnt by the sun....I enjoyed seeing this..I was driving and it kept my attention enough to turn round and come back..because as I learnt, things don't happen twice in photography...and in fact the next day the bananas had been swallowed ....
the challenge was to find the angle were I got only black inside the house as there was another window opposite ...
hope you enjoy the simplicity

Hm. Maybe my choice of words... I thought it was a playful juxtaposition that was very well done, sort of humour with a wink of the eye. It made me think of "life amidst adversity" in a positive way, it did not feel "drenched" in symbolism.

ok..it really caught my attention as I was driving...and I had to drive back to get the picture...so much poverty and this symbol of sun, hope, food, brightness in the dark house, contrast of dry house and juicy fruit....thanks for your feedback

This is beautiful and a perfect shot !!!!!!! Yes , I've learned that same lesson and I always carry a camera and when I see something like this , I make sure I get it then , because as you say , you may not get a second chance !!!!!! I spent last summer taking photo in the park where I work ... of a particular fountain that has been there for probably close to 100 years .... 2 months ago , it was torn down and no longer exists !!!!!! Life is fleeting , capture every second of it you can !!!!!!! I love the idea of something young and ripe being protected by something old and worn !!!!!!! And in an abstract way , the bananas form a heart , coming out of the darkness into the light of day !!!!!!!!!!!!

Simple, but very nice composition. It's got excellent brightness and contrast. This photo brings back good childhood memories.
