Very nice and beautifully done! I love the shading on this, as well as the colors. As for a background idea, you could have him in an old western bar, like one of the ones in the movie. For something easier, you could have him standing just outside of a desert, or even a prarie.

You can always try a single-coloured background, with a colour that brings him out. You might wanna add some shadows while at it, too~
