Description
Treypaw padded alongside Leafpaw, Ravenwing and Sunpaw. The whole of ThunderClan- with the exception of Whitepelt, who was stuck back at camp expecting kits soon- padded silently through the forest. They had been joined by WindClan near four-trees, and now they were heading towards the valley that BloodClan was occupying.
The two Clans were going to drive them out.
Suddenly the bushes rustled ahead, and the cats stopped, readying themselves for a fight. But only Mistystar and Blackfoot appeared- their pelts were ruffled and muddy, and they were gasping for air. "Oh, thank StarClan it's you!" Mistystar exclaimed when she recognized the cats before her.
"Mistystar?" Tallstar mewed, stepping towards her. "What's wrong?" he gestured for them to sit under a large oak tree, with him and Firestar beside them. The rest of the Clans circled around.
"Tigerstar..." Blackfoot started. "He... he was about to lead TigerClan to your camp," he looked at Tallstar. "But Scourge... he attacked him, and..."
"He lost all of his lives!" Mistystar screeched.
The Clans erupted into gasps and murmurs of shock and disbelief. Firestar climbed onto a tree root and yowled for them to be silent.
"If it's true or not weather Tigerstar lost his lives," he called, "it does not change anything. We must drive BloodClan out of the forest! Mistystar, Blackfoot," he said, turning towards the two cats. "Will TigerClan fight on our side?"
"Yes, Firestar," Mistystar replied immediately. "This forest belongs to us, not those filthy crow-food eaters! Tonight will be the last night they ever step foot here!"
Her words elicited yowls of agreement and vengeance. "Come on, LionClan," Firestar shouted. "Lets show them what we can do!"
And with that, the flame-colored tom bolted out into the forest, the others keeping pace just behind him. In no time at all they reached the valley, and the shock set in.
The clearing was in turmoil. RiverClan and ShadowClan cats fought against the BloodClan cats, but they just swatted them back like flies. In the middle of the clearing lay Tigerstar's sprawled body, still bleeding from a long, jagged gash on his stomach. Scourge sat perched atop his side, slashing at any cat who tried to knock him off.
"Let's go!" Firestar yowled, and he launched himself into the fight, LionClan following.
Treypaw stayed back to make sure Sunpaw and Cinderpelt were safely hidden, before running out into the swarming mass of cats.
He barely had any time to become aware of his surroundings before he was knocked over. He looked up and saw Star. How could she have gotten me so quickly!? Treypaw thought, before snarling and batting her off. He scrambled to his paws and raced after her, only to be knocked to the side once again. Oh come on!
Treypaw froze as he glanced up and saw Scourge had come to his daughter's aid. Oh StarClan, help me! The small tom had raised his paw to deliver the death blow, but Blackfoot appeared, digging his fangs into Scourge's shoulder and hauling him off, tossing him several pawsteps away. "That was for Tigerstar!" the white tom screeched. Treypaw gave him a nod of thanks, before the ShadowClan deputy tore off after a tabby she-cat that had another apprentice pinned down.
Treypaw turned to see Star standing a few feet away, drving back a WindClan cat with her siblings. He raced after her and delivered a deep gash on her hind-leg, causing her to stumble to the side while mewing in pain. Her brothers took quick notice, and while the tabby went to help her, the white and black spotted one lashed out at Treypaw, but missed. "Ha!" he mocked him. "Don't they teach you how to fight properly in your Clan? Oh, wait- you're not a Clan!"
The tom's amber eyes took on a new level of anger, and he launched himself at Treypaw. He was too slow however and Treypaw side-stepped to avoid him, but he misjudged the other's abilities- he swerved on his fore-legs and kicked out at him with his hind-legs, knocking him to the ground. The tom then quickly had him pinned down.
"My name's Blackout," he meowed, his voice cold as ice. "I like my victims to know my name before they die. And I like to know theirs. So what's your name?"
"Treypaw," he spat back. "But it's not me who's dieing today!" he lashed out with his teeth, causing Blackout to yip and stumble back, right into the range of Leafpaw. She barreled him over and they writhed in a screeching mess away from Treypaw. He jumped to his paws and went back for Star and her tabby brother.
But once again Scourge came to help his kits. He stood in front of them, baring his fangs at Treypaw, his tail lashing. "C'mon then," he chuckled. "Try and get 'em!"
Treypaw could tell Scourge was hurt, and badly. His left ear was reduced to ribbons just above his shut eye, probably due to a thin but deep cut over it. His sides were littered with scratches; small, big, shallow, deep. The BloodClan leader would fall soon.
There was a flash of orange at the edge of Treypaw's vision, then Firestar appeared at Scourge's blindside. The much bigger tom knocked him down and held him there with a paw at the throat. "LionClan, BloodClan!" the tom called out, and the battle quickly came to a halt when they saw the leaders.
"This fight... is over!"
He slid his claws into Scourge's neck, quickly ending the tom's life.
