Ok seriously, have you read these guys Pokedex entries? Gengar: Lurking in the shadowy corners of rooms, it awaits chances to steal its prey's life force.
Dusknoir: his feared Pokémon is said to travel to worlds unknown. Some even believe that it takes lost spirits along with it.
Banette: An abandoned plush doll became this POKéMON. They are said to live in garbage dumps and wander about in search of the children that threw them away.
Basically, Gengar haunts the night, scaring people out their wits, maybe even killing them. Dusknoir kidnaps people and sends them to this spirit dimension place, and Banette is out to kill children.
I mean, I was scared of Dusknoir anyway after playing Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness, but now I never want to encounter one... ever...
