This is a commentary-drawing on what Glee has done to Quinn's character..

In season 1, Quinn was the total mean girl, she was beautiful, she was popular in school, head cheerleader and is in a relationship with the quarterback of the football team... her sole purpose of joining the glee club was destroying it from within.. she was one of the villains in the show, yet she maintained to be quite like-able.. it's just impossible to hate Dianna Agron.

then, she became pregnant, she lost her position in the Cheerios, lost her home when her parents found out.. and even lost her boyfriend when he found out that the baby she had was with his best friend.. as her world kept tumbling, we get to see more and more of Quinn's personality, that she's more than the regular mean girl we see in other shows, and although she was the "popular girl", you can see that she exerted so much effort to attain her position.. Yes, her obsession with being popular was quite freaky.. but we all know how fitting-in is so important in high school.
As the episodes continued we can see her grow into a confident teenager.. she now realized that being popular is not important and that there are other much important things in life. She also realized who her real friends are and valued the glee club, just as her co-glee clubbers valued her. She even became close friends with Mercedes and helped her in her struggles in life just as Mercedes helped Quinn with her own. With all of the problems Quinn encountered in her life, she was able to learn valuable lessons and grew up into a woman who was full of self-worth. She was no longer the Quinn Fabray we had earlier in Season 1!

And then Season 2 came.. she returned to the Cheerios after saying that she no longer needed Cheerios in her life, she became obsessed in returning to her old popular position. She fell in love with a boy, but cheated on him with her ex-boyfriend, knowing that her chances of being the popular girl was much more likely when she was with him.. she no longer sees her fellow glee-clubbers as valuable friends.. and acted as if her friendship with Mercedes never existed. And then finally her obsession came, her obsession of being Prom Queen.. her obsession was no longer "quite freaky", but beyond freaky.. in fact it was quite absurd. From the character development she had in the end of season 1.. she turned into this desperate lunatic.

So that's how this drawing came-up.. I was so frustrated and disappointed about how the show was portraying Quinn (among other things) that I felt like drawing this to release my pain.. In this drawing she's actually in those psychological help groups.. you know, where they say those lines "Hi, I'm ______ and I'm a ________" It was just a silly idea that I just thought of...

and then the whole Lucy Kaboosey came.. and the show just ruined such an amazing character.. In the end of season 1, I actually hoped that they would make her a leader of a feminist group in school, full of strength and confidence, and instead made her this crazy wackjob.. it's just sad..

anyway I hope in Season 3 they do a better job in their writing, because I no longer feel the same way about Glee as I did back then (the thing about Quinn was just one thing BTW) although on a good note.. they've done such a big improvement ever since the Born this Way episode that I really hope their flow will continue on in Season 3, and even until the end of the show. But for now, I hope you guys will enjoy this Prom Quinn drawing!
