Description I certainly hope a certain non-fan doesn't kill me for this. LOL

With the number of rather, um, pessimistic website chatter going around the Harry Potter fandom, looking for a casual chat to discuss the funnies, romances, or twisted plots can lead somebody right into the throes of yet another conversation dedicated to "who's gonna die next".

While J.K. Rowling is certainly not afraid of killing off characters, I doubt she's here to depress us either. The outlook portrayed in the books is optimistic and even humorous, despite all the horrors the characters are forced to go through. Life seems to suck, but there's always hope, always a brighter side. Some other friends of mine agree on this general attitude in the books. With that in mind, I'm hoping to start a website with essays on why it's a lost cause to predict character deaths (they'll happen, but it'll be a surprise whoever it is), who will live for sure (there's actually several very VERY interesting hints on Harry), and a thorough smashing of the horrid "chessboard theory". The website will also host fanworks, humor, and forums for yapping. While the website will NOT be yet another news site, (There's millions of them!) some of the more interesting tidbits of gossip may worm their way in. What I really see the site being is more of a fandom site with an agenda, such as Sugarquill.net. (Dedicated to proclaiming that Ron and Hermione ARE a couple. And they're damn right too!)

The site will be called the "Ming Tian School of Optimism".

And you're thinking, what the hell does "Ming Tian" mean, and what does it have to do with Harry Potter?

Well, after taking chinese for a semester, I've ended up with a "favorite word". ©ú¤Ñ, ming tian, means "tomorrow". Literally, it means "bright day".

The word ©ú(ming), meaning bright, is often used to describe the future. It is a word describing hope and optimism, and it is fitting here.

Anywho, while I haven't gotten a hold of the webspace yet, I have been working on some art, and will be displaying some of it here. A much smaller version of this picture will be on the placeholder page once I get the domain name down and can start working on the page design. Right now, I'm making it available as desktop art.
