South Tirol was a predomimantly german speaking inhabitated area but it was awarded to Italy after the World War I because of strategical reasons. The flag coat of arms is the symbol of tirol a red eagle. The flag was inspired by the coat of arms. Th is flag is rather used by austrians living in the area.Related content
