I'm still kind of confused as to why Lemongrab is next heir to the throne of the Candy Kingdom.
I've watched the episode where Princess Bubblegum was in her 13-year-old self and said that she previously created him and that he was one of her experiments gone wrong. But I don't understand how he got the rights to be the next heir to the throne of the Candy Kingdom. Even Princess Bubblegum said it was complicated but so far I haven't seen why that is so.

I'm not mad or anything, just curious about it.
