Wow. I love the detail. Ferocious beastie.
The only thing I'd suggest is a little more highlight on the head (forhead and top of the snout, specifically) and horns to make them seem more 3d, and to make the head stand out from the shoulders.

thanks! I've been practicing a bunch. I've always liked drawing those kinds of sorta semi-realistic animals but they didn't really look good digitally. But now that I've really started hammering out this messy, almost painty style it look a LOT better!

I'm not sure where you're seeing dog! It's a lion with a lot of fur and antlers.

To me the tail kinda makes me think of a dog or wolf.

Oh it's much to fluffy to be either of those. It's just very veery long fur on a regular lion's tail.
