waste of money my parents said
its just a mouthful of sugar and air and then it is gone, nothing to hold on to nothing to keep
so with money of my own i stood at watched the magic go warm into bags
i could not decide what color
so i bought them all
and ate them all
and memory of that warm sweetness melting on my tongue and the bit left to chew sticking on molars searing pain finding unknown crevass
and the silver filling i still have
but the taste for it never leaves me either
