It’s Saturday, and you’re walking through the forest on your way to the lake not too far away from your foster home. Your feet automatically follow the well known path to the lake. While walking, you began to zone out thinking about, well, anything and everything, the weather, forty-two, cats and so on. Suddenly something powerful rams into you.
‘What the hell was that?’ you think peeling yourself off the ground. When your head stopped throbbing you regained your senses and opened your (color) eyes, only to see a blue hedgehog kneeling beside you. Hr looked about sixteen with emerald green eyes, and he was wearing red shoes with a white stripe and gold buckle.
“Hey are you alright? Sorry ‘bout that, I didn’t see you there,” he said apologetically offering you his white-gloved hand. You take his hand and he pulls you up. “The name’s Sonic by the way, Sonic the Hedgehog,” with that he winks at you. Apparently at that moment, your (fav color) converse became extremely interesting at that moment. Your cheeks grew a little warm, but you tried to hold it back as much as possible which made Sonic blush too. “And you are?” he asked. You snapped back to reality and looked at him.
“M-my name’s _____, I-it’s nice to meet you.” You stammered. “Um, if you don’t mind me asking, where were you running to in such a hurry?” you asked. Just as he opens his mouth to answer but a big mechanical claw thing shot out of the trees and attempted to grab Sonic like a little kid after an adorable teddy bear in claw machine. A small squeak escaped your lips as Sonic swept you off your feet, holding you in bridle style. He easily dodged the searching claw and gently set you down next to a tree.
“Stay here,” he said releasing you.
“What’s going on? Where did that thing come from? Hell, where did you come from?” you asked ever so slightly frightened. Sonic rubbed the back of neck uncomfortably and laughed nervously.
“Heh, heh... uh... well... um... you’ll see” he stammered, sweat dropping. The claw retracted to where it had originated from and a huge robot replaced it. In the cockpit sat a fat man with a big orange-ish brown gravity-defying mustache. Sonic stood up and turned to face the gluttonous man.
“Ho ho ho, I’ve got you know, you obnoxious pest!” the mustache man yelled.
“What’s up Eggman, long time no see!” Sonic said smirking. Somehow an egg-shaped man with a giant robot, isn’t so surprising. ‘Eggman’ continued his fruitless attempts to capture the blue blur. He kept jumping around dodging the claw all the while taunting Eggman. Shouting things like “over here!”, “nope over here!”, “missed me!”, “your too slow, you’re too slow!”, “c’mon is that the best you’ve got?”
‘He’s really cocky isn’t he?’ you asked yourself.
“Argh! Fine then!” Eggman yelled in frustration.
“Give up yet?” Sonic smirked again. Eggman glared at Sonic, then looked in your direction and grinned wickedly.
“Well then, if I can’t capture you, then I’ll just take your friend here instead!” His grin widened rubbing his hands together. All color draining from your face.
“Wait, what?” was all you managed to squeak out before the claw wrapped itself around your torso pulling you towards the machine.
“_______!” Sonic yelled. He reached out his hand trying to grab yours but fell short.
“Sonic!” you yelled back. Eggman pulled you into the cockpit, and trapped you in a glass cylinder. Your panic soon turned to anger, and you began pounding on the glass with all your might. “Let me out of here right now!” you yelled at Eggman.
Eventually you gave up, your fists red and throbbing. As you were flying back to what you guessed might be his base, you saw a black and red hedgehog staring at you, and so you decided to stare back. The two of you stared at each other for some time (Twilight much?)
‘Why is he staring at me?’ You thought.
“Who are you?” you decided to ask. You kindda were expecting him to smile, like Sonic did, or at least smirk, but he didn’t.
“My name is Shadow, Shadow the Hedgehog.” He replied.
“Can you help me?” You asked with a weak smile. He kept staring at you, and then turned away. You frowned and looked at your shoes. “I understand” You mumbled looking back up at him. “By the way, may name’s ______, it’s nice to meet you.” Your eyes meet one last time before he turned and left. You watched him leave until Eggman’s twisted voice filled your ears.
“We’re here little girl! You know what that means!” His fist slammed on a big green button, and your capsule started to fill up with green gas, which made you woozy.
“Must... fight it... stay awake... stay awake” you staggered and blacked out.
