He doesn’t have the best relationship with his moms. Neither of them gets along well with the other. Spitfire has never been one for long-term relationships and it was Fleur’s first relationship after coming out and divorcing Fancy.

Fleur is generally affectionate and motherly to him but she’s usually in The Crystal Empire with Cadence. When he was younger, she primarily raised him but after meeting Cadence she spent less and less time with him until Spitfire took over most custody when Fleur moved to the CE. Unfortunately, Spitfire didn’t pay much attention to him because she was busy with the Wonderbolts. Cross decided to join the Wonderbolts to attempt to get his mother's attention. He was bullied and teased for being Spit’s son and for being a “pretty little unicorn.” As seen above, it clearly didn’t work all that well. When he tried to approach him mom with it, he barely got much acknowledgement and what he got was much like what RD got. “It happens bud.. don’t worry about it”

Cross has pretty well accepted that he was just a kid brushed aside because his parents were busy. He has an ok relationship with Fleur but she was the one that left him with Spit, who clearly didn’t want him. He still does enjoy the early memories he has with her and still tries to spend some time with her. He even has a good relationship with his half siblings and is openly idolized by Épée (which he thinks is a little weird but he takes what he can get.)

Spitfire, however, he is openly hostile with. Not even passive-aggressive, just aggressive. He gets along with his half siblings on her side as well but in a “we had a shit mother” solidarity way. He has had to intervene on behalf of his subordinates against Spitfire to have much respect for her (Ex when Grafitti was having horrible panic attacks during performance or Firebrand had chronic pain in his wing, which was later amputated, yet Spit was trying to make them keep flying)

Soarin: Soarin is the vice commander under Spitfire. He is the resident father figure to the wondebolt kids. As I’ve mentioned before, there is a gaggle of kiddos that often travel along with their parents. Soarin tends to take them under his wing (pun not intended). He and Cross are very close as Soarin seemed to be the only one that cared for him at times. As Soarin gets cloer to retirement, Cross has kinda filled that role and is seen as a big brother figure to many of the younger recruits/ Wonderbolt kids/ etc. Even some on his squad see him as family.
Misc Trivia:
He’s a talented flier and is currently a Captain of his own team.
I imagine the Wonderbolt is structured/ ranked like the military/ police given it seems to double as an Air Force type thing?
So there are separate branches of the Wonderbolts
Ones that specialize in entertainment and ones that make up the military side
When RD first joined it was still all one giant organization but it split as she moved ranks
RD (with VC Thunderlane) took over command of the entertainment brand and Spitfire (with VC Soarin) took over the military side
Which kinda makes sense cause she’s hella aggressive for entertainment
Cross very deliberately joined the military branch because of how obvious it was that he could only be good as a show pony
He’s very stubborn and competitive; he will take anything and everything as a personal challenge
Regardless, or probably because of, he’s one of the best captains in the Bolts
Jealous newbies like to claim it’s become he’s Spits son but once they see the two interact they realize that there is no way Spit went soft on him
They are very loud and aggressive about their dislike for each other
Possibly been arrested a few times from their alteractions
Also a brief time right after Fleur left he spent some time in juvie for arson and tagging (with Graffiti)
He does have a pretty apathetic outlook on life tho
“Don’t make any expectations so no one will disappoint you” types
He is the “pretty boy” of the current squad (and probably the Wonderbolts) and has a large dedicated fanbase
Which he enjoys a lot more than he’s admitted
Especially cause it’s bigger than any of the other Bolts, including the entertainment branch
He is a big believer in found family
