sorry for absence I am lazy!! I will continue finishing and uploading the rest of the cast's refs but I thought it'd be fun to play with the story a bit. as stated before Maelstrom has uncontrollable outbursts of powerful magic, this is because her well of magic is GINORMOUS but It's blocked from a common mutation in unicorns (trixie and sunburst have the same issues with magic albeit their wells of magic are small)
this is very uncomfortable for Maelstrom and it often bleeds out as raging storms and electricity. Maelstrom hates her magic and wishes she was born a pegasus or earth pony but she doesn't want to disappoint her mom
