This is one of my pet rats, Thom. He is a hooded rex rat with dumbo ears, I call him my little sheep because his hair is long and wavy.When I first got my boys Thom was so shy he would dive under the bedding and burrow around bugs-bunny style whenever I came near. Now when I call for him he gallops towards me and will jump into my hands for me to massage and cuddle him, there's a reason I call him my sweet boy. He has a habit of laying near the edge of a table or on my sewing machine and hang his head over the corner looking at me with those puppy-eyes. I adore him.

xD I love the dumbo ears! I have a fancy rat that looks very similar, but he has a lightning bolt streak that seperates the black. so half of his face is black and the other half is white. I named him Phatom :3

As far as I've read it isn't uncommon for females to mark as well, it's just more likely from boys

They are amazing pets, maybe the best "small pet" around

I'm a little worried about their life spans though. I'm used to pets like cats and dogs who live 14+ years. I get very attached to pets.
