In my story, Neville's 31 and just starting a fresh chapter of his life as the Herbology Professor at Hogwarts. The castle begins stirring a lot of old memories for him, particularly those of his old friend.

Fanfic Introduction:
This is an introspective love story about a 31 year old Neville Longbottom based on how the character was portrayed in the books. My goal in writing this is to examine him more closely and create a rounded, relatable, and complex character with his own mannerisms, hopes, and fears (all things that were mentioned in passing throughout the books, but rarely expanded on).This story will delve into parts of his life we didn’t get to see, spanning the ages of 6 to 31, and walking with him while he navigates childhood trauma, first love, sense of self, relationships, careers, and overall growth.
I’ve always found Neville to be a very underappreciated character, yet one who greatly shaped what I am attracted to and which values I prioritize in others.
He is short,
He is chubby,
He is sensitive,
but more than all of that, he is complex.
I took 52 pages of careful notes on him when I reread the books to prepare for this story. A lot of time and energy went into fleshing out the world around him as accurately as possible, so strap in! Here we go.
