Description
Ok so piece was originally done back in ‘97 and was one of my first jobs for Marvel. I was hired to design a kid’s “happy meal” box for KFC. A long with that, I had also done a mini comic that was packaged with the toy prize for the kids meal and standees that would be displayed in the restaurants. This image of Spider-Man was the first attempt I had come up with for part of the standee. The art director wanted to have Spider-Man hanging upside down from his spider webs instead of crouching on the ground (which made for a much more dynamic standee with the other Marvel characters behind him.) So as part of my “Inspiration Found” series, I went back cleaned up some of the pencils, add some back ground elements, and inked it. This piece is up for sale on E-Bay and can be found here: [link]
