Happy Saint Valentine's Day to all! It's a little early, but I wanted to share my best wishes for it when it comes.I know I draw lots of romantic stuff, but I wanted to do a new image for Valentine's day.
I drew Megumi and Sanosuke from "Rurouni Kenshin" kissing.
I always loved this couple (even though they never officially got together.) I especially loved it when he stopped her from committing suicide by grabbing the knife by the blade. And in gratitude for both he and Kenshin talking her out of death, she decided to do her best to be a good doctor, and fixed up Sanosuke's hand for him.
Not to mention, the part where he tried to protect her from the Oniwabanshu, after he tried to talk her out of leaving. He cared about her so much.God bless Saint Valentine, for giving us the most romantic day of the year.

I love the pic!! I totally agree with you, Sano cared a lot about Megu and Megu about Sano..they loved each other secretly <.< and you just need to see all the Sano x Megu moments to know ^^ even Yahiko is always like "they look like they are married" xD so funny!...+favs!!

Megumi was a doctor who was forced to make opium for an evil drug dealer. Kenshin and the others befriended her after she helped heal Yahiko's wounds. Her opium killed one of Sanosuke's friends, and he hated her for doing that. (The others forgave her, because they knew she didn't want to make it.)
Aoshi and his men are working for the drug dealer, and are trying to retrieve Megumi for him. Megumi decides that, in order to avoid involving her new friends in anything to do with Aoshi, she will return to the drug dealer and commit suicide. Sano is waiting at the gate to the drug dealer's mansion, and tries to talk her into staying with him and his friends. He even tells her that he's her friend too, because he forgives her. Before Megumi has time to think it over, one of Aoshi's men tries to hit Megumi, knowing that Sano will pull her out of the way (which he does.) Sano defeats the foe, but Megumi gets captured by another one of Aoshi's men, and Sano gets angry. Kenshin and friends show up, and Sano tells them that they're gonna rescue Megumi.
Megumi tries to kill the drug dealer, but gets subdued by Hannya (Aoshi's strongest fighter.) Kannryu (the drug dealer) and Aoshi argue, and Kannryu gets annoyed at Aoshi's arrogance. Aoshi brings Megumi into a room and tosses her the dagger she brought. He tells her she can end her life or face Kannryu's suffering. So, Megumi contemplates killing herself.
After Kenshin has a huge fight with Hannya and then fights Aoshi himself, the drug dealer comes in with a gattling gun and aims it at Aoshi. One by one, three of Aoshi's four men are killed, tring to protect Aoshi and each other. Hannya remains and tells Kenshin where to find Megumi. Hannya uses himself as a diversion, despite Aoshi's commands not to, and gets killed while Kenshin runs to stop Kannryu. Thanks to a tiny dart one of Aoshi's men flung into the gattling gun's ammo before he died, the gun jams, and Kenshin knocks the drug dealer out. The group goes off to find Megumi, and Aoshi goes insane from all the trauma.
Megumi raises her blade to kill herself, but Sano comes in and grabs it. He gets angry at her, and she gets sad for making him touch the sharp knife. Kenshin tells her to live on so she can make ammends for what she did. Megumi agrees and goes off with Dr. Genzai (the old nice guy who's in a few episodes) to become a good doctor. Before she leaves, she fixes up Sano's hand. (And every time he injures it, she fixes it for him.)
P.S., Aoshi eventually goes back to normal, after Kenshin reminds him of what he meant to Misao - a young girl in Season Two, who has a huge crush on Aoshi. After Kenshin knocks Aoshi out, he remembers his men and then smiles as he remembers Misao. And he ends up helping Kenshin later.

The reason Valentine's Day is associated with love is because he used to do weddings for couples whose families didn't want them to marry. His day became associated with love, because he helped lovebirds marry.

Well, she said it to Kenshin, and he was confused, but Kaoru freaked, then she said if Sano was more like Kenshin, she would "entertain him too. Kaoru chased her out after that.
