Description
Late one night as Val is signing off on a radio/telepathic call with Otto, Royak, and Ellabbars, his radio stars acting up; after hitting it a few times to try and make it work, the radio breaks, shooting a puff of smoke in his face.

The next morning, Val is about to head out to Avery's scrap yard to get the radio fixed when Lora and Charlotte ask to come along; feeling obligated to offer Abigail to come along, Val asks her this, but she just turns up the music she's listening to so she can drown out his voice. As Val, Lora, and Charlotte leave, Ashea, annoyed by Abigail's rude response and wanting to spend time with her, decides to take her phone and music away, much to her niece's frustration, telling her that she'll give it back if Abigail spends some time with her, the girl reluctantly agreeing.

Meanwhile, Val, Lora, and Charlotte arrive at the scrap yard only for them to nearly get hit by a flying piece of metal coming from a window of Avery's house, followed by Avery herself sticking her head out and greeting haply them through the broken window. Back at the house, Ashea and Abigail are playing cards, though the latter isn't happy about this situation, and as soon as the round's over, Abigail takes her phone back and rushes to her room, slamming the door behind her and leaving Ashea disappointed.

At the scrap yard, Val explains to Avery the situation with his radio while the two girls fond over the workshop. Avery says she can fix the radio, but she'll need some parts leading the four of them to look around the yard for scrap, unaware that they aren't alone. At the house, Ashea, having taken note of Abigail's love of music, is rummaging around the basement in search of a guitar Val had, eventually finding it and going back upstairs to play it; however, she's not particularly good. Abigail hears Ashea's music and goes downstairs, giving her aunt some pointers.

Back in the scrap yard, Lora hears Charlotte screaming and rushes to her rescue, but finds out that she just found a talking fish mount and is exited, much to Lora's relief and annoyance. As the two are walking back to Acery's workshop, they suddenly run into a Shovelmaw, causing all of them to freak out and making the dicynodont chase them, with it eventually cornering Lora in a large pipe; luckily, Avery has heard the chaos and arrives in time, hitting the Shovelmaw in her monster form and sending it packing. After the event, Avery fixes the radio and sees Val, Lora, and Charlotte off; once they get back home, they see Ashea and Abigail having a good time together playing songs on the guitar, causing Val to crack a small smile at the sight.
