Continuation of my pokémon challenge.This was actually the first time I've tried to draw a sea and a sunset digitally, not to mention both of them at the same time :'D Took me about 5-7 tutorials and it still looks like crap.
But hey, that's why I'm doing these: So I can learn~

First off, you did really well with this, so don't be so hard on yourself! Seeing the flaws in your art is important, but so is noticing the things you do well. I think you did a good job with the lighting and overall coloring of the artwork. There are areas that can be improved, but you're off to a very good start.
I mostly see issues with Pikachu. The shading could use some core shadows and making the shadows darker would add a bit more contrast, but that is up to your personal preference.
Pikachu's ear (the one farthest away) looks a bit off in the placement. I think it's because it should be point a bit more away, towards the background. I also think that Pikachu's right leg seems to be extended out a little bit too much.
Also, it might look a bit better if the apple was bigger so that it would cover up more of the leg or smaller so you could see more of it. The way it is now seems a bit distracting.

And yes, it's very helpful, since I most likely wouldn't have noticed some of the mistakes, if you had not pointed them out (like the ear or the leg). So now I know which parts I need to pay more attention to in the future.

I think that anatomy in general -no matter what species- is one of the hardest things to master.

I totally agree! Drawing pokemon actually made me want to study animal anatomy more.

For me it was the other way around. :'D I started this whole 'Pokemon Challenge' thingy, because I wanted to practice and learn how to draw different creatures.

Nice. XD Pokemon seem to be a popular choice for challenges. I've been think about doing challenge with making gijinka pokemon designs anf I know someone else that is doing that, too. And then there was the pokeddexy challenge on tumblr. XD

I think one of the reasons is, because Pokemon is so familiar to so many people, and there also is a lot of variety in the creatures. 
I highly recommend starting some sort of challenge.

I'd say you've succeeded with your coloring. Only the grass looks a bit simplified and the horizon seems to be askew. Or is the angle supposed that way? Otherwise, the layout is good.

I did struggle quite a lot with how to make the angle look good, so I might have rotated the picture at some point and then forgot to shraighten the horizon

Don't be so hard on yourself! That is far better than any sunset I could do, if that's your first attempt at a digital sunset then I would say its fantastic! I also very much like the grass.

Yes, I know I can be little harsh on myself, but it's just the fact that you don't become a professional artist by doing half-assed works, which is the exact reason I started this "Pokemon challenge" thingy: To challenge myself as an artist to try new things
