*nods* You're welcome! Actually, despite having imagined characters, my stories tend to be more realistic when I include my friends in em (yep, personalities, styles, names, etc.). Hope you don't mind. XD
It's like this. There's this teenager named Beckett (who's character resembles a friend of mine, a big womanizer actually) and most of the story's from his point of view. And no, the story ain't really romance genre. xP Just a general character idea. Becket's an assistant of a government recognized organization and is a good observer.
Then there was this female character (who was pretty plain earlier and not so interesting, and didn't even have a name) who's adopted by a rich school's rich Headmaster. And your name sounds French to me (it is, I reckon, but I could be wrong). *smiles* I was wondering if that character could be spiced up *points at you* and become one of the major characters. I've thought of a lot of things though not all, and figured you could help. The character's a happy-go-lucky one, sports lovin, has a good sense of style, good accent (not French, because she was adopted) and handling in vocabulary, intellectual, etc. If you see what I mean.
And of course, there's gonna be romance between her and Becket, but that's gonna be at maybe the end of the book, or the second book. xP

Oooops, sorry, you don't have to explain again. I replied to the other reply before replying to this one lol, sorry!
I totally agree btw. Real-life charactesr are more realistic than ones that you just make up lol.
And I so don't mind!
LOL! Pieretta IS kinda French-y, Latin-y! Hehe, and I'm so honored you chose my name!!!
Ahhh...that sounds like an interesting character lol! I THINK I fit those categories, minus the sports one, for I'm not very sporty unless it comes to outdoors sports such as rock-climbing, abseiling, etc. THEN I love sports. But I don't mind like normal sports like footie, basketball, etc, unless it's hot (I hate the heat lol).
But it sounds REALLY fascinating!
I can't wait to read it!

XD Hehe that's okay, lass! Indeed, you have no idea of the progress those genuine characters made for me.
xD I thought so! *pats her head* It's alright. You could be. I'll be really famous one day, mfwahahahahahaah!
;3 Hey, rock climbing is a sport. And obviously I didn't plan to have Pieretta do any other kind, because there's already a rough n tough female character named Amanda that's a total sports, athletic and kickboxing freak. XD
Say, I need yer help. *ponders* Well, about the clothing. The kind of clothing Pieretta would like to wear, and according to you an ideal school uniform for both boys and girls (yeah, big schools need good uniform).
Also, there's another character named Shari. XD Dang, I suck at explaining clothes (and Beckett notices "everything" about females on sight) and Shari's a girly girl. I need to find appropriate clothes for her.

Ahhh...yeah. And Amanda sounds more sporty than Pieretta, doesn't it? Like the name?
LOL. Okay...well, I'm a very jeans + t-shirts kinda girl...not really fancy and such. It depends what you wanna do.
Shari...I can imagine plaited skirts or like y'know, not short skirts maybe a bit on the longish side? A headband that is modest, high socks, a hunched-kinda position, like not totally egotistical and sure of herself, not form-fitting clothes, cute polite shoes, etc.
Clothing always shows a person's personality, I guess. But shoes generally do the best. A showy person would walk with a strut or wear overly showy and colorful stuff, etc. A laid-back person would wear jeans, tshirts, sneakers, etc. A total fashion-guru would accessorize like TONS...y'know, the usual.

tushantin In reply to porpierita [2008-12-18 12:16:40 +0000 UTC]
Indeed, it does! And yes, that was why I picked it long ago. Though Pieretta was adopted she lived a happy life in a fashionable city. Which would mean that the social matters and style would have some effect on her. Like, not being too showy but not being left behind either. This way the characters become more realistic and believable: Their growth with regards to their surroundings. If that's the case, what kind of clothes would you wear?
Ah, thank you! T-Shirt and jeans do make a "sort of" casual look at casual occasions. Hmm, I'll note that.
Wow that's quite a treasure knowledge! XD Thank you! Though Shari is slightly egoistical, and yet modest. Human minds are complicated, though yeah, she's a girly girl. Hmm you're right, those clothes do fit in. *runs a search on those clothes*
Indeed! Ah, how stupid of me, I never mentioned Beckett having noticed trivial things like that! Shoes... Hmmm, so what kind of shoes would Shari and her households would wear... I suppose I'll need to search for an ebook regarding all the data. You have an idea?

porpierita In reply to tushantin [2008-12-18 13:11:50 +0000 UTC]
Ahh, definitely. The surroundings affect themβthat's what my characters do too, in my novel.
Hm...what kind of clothes...it depends on her personality, I guess. Bubbly could go for like funky designs, slutty could go for like showy with lots of skin, girly modest could be like plaits and polite clothing, tomboyish could be like baggy clothing...
Limitless possibilities!
Lol, shoes always go with handbags. And shoes are how you can tell a person's personalities. Like strappy complicated shoes, funky shoes, sneakers, trainers, leisure shoes...
I, myself love Sketchers. D'you know them? They're like leisure shoes I guess, and they're REALLY comfortable ^^
