Description MY FIRST ALEX RIDER FANART! WOOT!

I used my other Artemis Fowl fanart, I Hunted You , as a template for it. I mean, the drawing just SCREAMED Alex after I read the series!

This quote is legendary. Alex tends to have a bit of a dry sense of humor. Not sharp and witty like Artemis, but more of a smart comeback or sarcastic comment.

I have to say, although Alex is a bit of a save-the-world type of guy, I enjoyed the series more as it progressed. I mean, in the beginning it was so...James Bond-ish. But especialy in Scorpia, it dealt with his mysterious, dark past... It's a bit like Artemis Fowl minus the fairies.

So...all I really did was change the background, quote, and colorsβ€”with the help of Photoshop CS3 of course. Then voila! The work was done, and Artemis turned into Alex!

Whoa. Never read the AF series, but I'm thinking of doing just that. As for this...awwww Alex is awesome. I did go look at your original picture for this though, and it's amazing how much a bit of color can do for a drawing. I've seen that line quoted so many times on ff.net! It's almost the catchphrase of the series, along with "You're never too young to die." or "Scorpia never forget. Scorpia never forgive." Great pic! Can't wait for Scorpia Rising!

Pretty much yeah. Alex Rider rawks too, but Artemis Fowl rocks more. (I mean, what can rock more than someone who has the same initials as you do? haha i'm just being ego)

But at least Alex Rider has a decent graphic novel. Poor Artemis.

I totally agree. AF beats AR's ass!

AR Graphic Novels are nice. AF ones SUCK. I mean the adaptation is good, but the drawings are just...eeek!

OK, I'm lucky, cuz I got to chapter three before I got interrupted by my sister who was wanting me to do something...

So for once I'm happy she likes to annoy me! She stopped me from reading on!

I read new moon before twilight... I wasnt too devastated when Edward left but still wound up hating dear old jacob at the end. (I now love him, lol eclipse did wonders)

gotta love intervention. I'm going on a long trip so sadly I cant get them from my library.

I didnt like jacob because I didnt really understand him that much. I was ok with him until alice showed up, and then it was over. I was mad because finally bella was happy again, and he screwed it up by being mad. Which, you know, I dont blame him for now.
And EXACTLY! i hate it when people just fawn over edward. He's a good guy and such, but so is jacob. Arguably, jacob is more noble. Especially when you take into consideration his age...

But now I really want to read those books! I may have to buy them, but I'm saving up for one of those $200 iphones... I freaked out when I found out yesterday lol.

So I must wait and not take scorpia on the trip because I'll be tempted!

ooh you have an iphone! thats amazing! So does my dad.

And I'm taking books, but no new ones. Proply the host, and His Dark Materials. Maybe more, kinda depends im taking my laptop, but its a crappy windows 98 and not able to get on the internet. Oh well.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

porpierita In reply to corelila [2008-06-12 08:40:43 +0000 UTC]

Teehee, yuppers

His Dark Materials? I have them, but they're not THAT good. I had to force myself to read Golden Compass...and haven't gotten around the Subtle Knife yet!

LOL, I use a Mac so yah...whenever I travel (which is REALLY often), I just take along my MacBook Air

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

corelila In reply to porpierita [2008-07-02 02:01:06 +0000 UTC]

ooh a macbook air. I used it for a sec at an apple store and fell in lurve. The keyboard is backlit! I will be getting one of those when i possibly can! But for now... I must save for the iphone... I used to have a macbook G4, but it overheated and died... HORRIBLE. Now I'm writing on an imac! And my dad had his laptop, but the internet was reeeally slow in the middle of iowa.

Subtle Knife is better than Golden Compass, but i mostly took the books to rile up my really super religious relatives. lol.

porpierita In reply to corelila [2008-07-02 06:15:58 +0000 UTC]

YES! The MacBook Air is totally worth it if you travel a lot. But if you don't, then I suggest a MacBook Pro or a regular MacBook. It all depends on what your uses for it are. Tell me and I'll recommend some!

Hm...yes, I've heard it's better. I'll get around to it someday! XD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

corelila In reply to porpierita [2008-07-08 21:00:59 +0000 UTC]

When they make a macbook like the Air with more than one USB and the backlit keyboard, i'm going to start saving for one in earnest. I think it would also be cool if they made a computer that is a combo of a big iphone and a laptop, so you can do photoshopping and stuff. Bascially a wacom tablet computer. I think that's where they're going, but not sure. Who really knows with these things. I cant wait for the next keynote!
And dosent that new cloud network look awesome?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

porpierita In reply to corelila [2008-07-09 09:13:47 +0000 UTC]

LMAO HAHAHAHA...they already have a backlit keyboard!

Wacom tablet computer? They already have those! But it's not a mac...it's like another brand. Try Googling it, I'm sure you can find one.

But I've heard it's not that good. Because when one thing breaks, the whole thing crashes.

I LOVE KEYNOTES. Steve Jobs seriously ROCKS!

MobileMe? IT SOUNDS GREAT!!!

corelila In reply to porpierita [2008-07-11 10:19:15 +0000 UTC]

Yeah! I just was on youtube and saw one with a backlit keyboard and was like...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

porpierita In reply to corelila [2008-07-11 11:35:47 +0000 UTC]

Um...all of them have a backlit keyboard...O.o Mine does. MacBook Pro does...and I have a feeling the normal MacBook either does too or is about to...

It's like a normal feature now for Macs XD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

corelila In reply to porpierita [2008-07-11 16:24:40 +0000 UTC]

My dad has a macbook and the keyboard is normal, but its about a year old... so I donno. But I'm really happy that the macbook pro already has one because now I know what to want...
And I think it should be a requirement for computers now, because it is just so cool. They do make keyboards that are backlit, but it's $40 over here in the US.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

porpierita In reply to corelila [2008-07-11 18:59:18 +0000 UTC]

Ahhh...figures. The old Macbook doesn't have it. Only the new version.

Or is it a PowerBook?

I THINK all Mac notebooks now have it...though I'm still not sure about the current MacBook. Because the keyboard is white after all and...dunno, check out the specs or something at apple.com!

MacBook Pro...I was never one for it. Too...in the middle, if you get my drift. I like working on my iMac, then using my Air to travel because I do helluva travelling!

But the Pro is more for...professionals I guess. I've always seen it as one for video editing people or people who love photoshopping and actually do stuff for a living (graphics etc.) I dunno...I guess I've always liked the MacBook more than the Pro...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

corelila In reply to porpierita [2008-07-12 05:17:30 +0000 UTC]

I get really antsy if my computer dosent work instantly... so if the pro is the more powerful, thats good for me... I just checked the apple site and the current macbook dosent have the backlit keyboard.Everything else does, though. Much as the macbook air is drool-worthy and I was super excited about it when I watched the keynote, and it's thin and light... I must have my CD drive! I know you can drag around one, but that and the fact that you only have one USB... Does it feel like it might break when you carry it around? In the store it was so thin I was afraid I might snap it... have any of those things made it a little difficult?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

porpierita In reply to corelila [2008-07-12 07:46:44 +0000 UTC]

Hehe, then why don't you get an iMac?

XDDD

Well, I travel a lot and I don't exactly watch DVDs when I do. Normally I just burn DVDs at home then put them on the computer to watch on the journey.

And you can get extra USBs. Like plug in one single USB which splits off into lots of USB compartments I think.

And the internet cable. You can get this plug which transfers the USB into an internet cable port, so it's pretty simple.

And at first I was like OMG IM GONNA BREAK IT...but it's really easy to use. And it's really sturdy as well. If you get water on the cover, you just wipe it off. There are less gaps for water to soak into as well.

It's made of aluminium, so it's super strong XD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

corelila In reply to porpierita [2008-07-13 03:57:30 +0000 UTC]

hehe I'm writing on an iMac...
Maybe i'll end up getting an Air now. they are sooo pretty! I dont need to worry about the internet cable, I'm a wifi girl.
I'm not too big of a fan of the plastic used for the regular macbooks. i like aluminum, so maybe that is the answer. Either way, I have time to save up...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

porpierita In reply to corelila [2008-07-13 08:41:15 +0000 UTC]

ME TOO! Wifi all the way!

As long as you go to places or you're in a place with Wifi, you got nothing to worry about.

Hehe, I'm the opposite. I like the plastic. Because it's white. But then the durability isn't so good, so I guess aluminum works too. Then again you can get electric shocks from aluminum based stuff...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

corelila In reply to porpierita [2008-07-13 19:10:10 +0000 UTC]

wait... electric shocks?
That's right! I had an ipod mini, you know, those ones that were basically the nanos of today? I scratched it up, and when my skin touched the scratches and it was plugged in... yeow!
the air dosent do that, right? or does it... you said it did...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

porpierita In reply to corelila [2008-07-13 19:50:01 +0000 UTC]

The ones that are aluminum all do it. Even watches.

MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, etc. All of them do it if they're aluminum. And basically EVERYTHING of Mac now is aluminum!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

corelila In reply to porpierita [2008-07-13 22:52:48 +0000 UTC]

well, its pretty, so I can see why they switched from plastic. But still! I dont wanna get shocked every time I want to use the laptop! Does it do that a lot? To the point were you cant use it?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

porpierita In reply to corelila [2008-07-14 12:43:49 +0000 UTC]

LOL, I loved plastic though...to be frank. Because it's all white.

Aluminum's nice though, I gotta say.

I think they changed cuz of the durability. People were complaining the plastic got scratches too easily, esp. on the MacBooks.

Nah, it doesn't. And it's only like a slight shock, not like complete WAAAAAAA!

I have this Roxy watch (really old) and it shocked me so I don't wear it at all...but the MacBook Air/Pro hardly do that, so you can be safe.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

corelila In reply to porpierita [2008-07-15 05:25:49 +0000 UTC]

okay thats a releif. I dont wanna be just randomly typing and then get zapped lol. White does look more... apple. I am worried about the scratching, too.
But it is so much cheaper! It's like am I willing to wait an extra year and have the exact kind that I want? Or have a good new one sooner? Choices, choices.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

porpierita In reply to corelila [2008-07-15 09:27:01 +0000 UTC]

Hehe, lol. Nah, you won't get zapped THAT often!

I kinda prefer the new one sooner...I mean if you wait and then you find out you can't wait that long and you buy it, say, after six months, in two months time a new version could be out.

Then you're kinda screwed lol.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

corelila In reply to porpierita [2008-07-15 18:04:19 +0000 UTC]

yeah thats true lol. I mean, new stuff gets released all the time... and I dont wanna have to save up even MORE, but I dont wanna be left in the dust either...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

porpierita In reply to corelila [2008-07-16 01:54:05 +0000 UTC]

Hm...I doubt there's gonna be a new MacBook Air any time soon. Because of the new 3G release and such, all attention is on the iPhone, and Steve Jobs won't have time for MacBook Air updates. So...yeah.
