Description
The fishnets were a challenging part of this project, so here's a close-up view for the benefit of the 3D artists as well as the fishnet lovers, of course. You can see that the effect isn't perfect, but it works well enough at reasonable zoom levels.
3D artists may have worked out that this is done with a displacement map, which defines the thickness of the net, but also forms the slight depression of the model's leg flesh which means this is a tight fishnet.
What may be less obvious is that this technique is easier to apply to Victoria 3's legs as opposed to V4's, because of the way their respective UV mappings are done. You may reasonably expect to see this effect in future gallery submissions.
