Description Ugh finally. I've loved BotW since it came out but no matter how much fanart I do for it, it all looks absolutely horrible. This is the only half-decent thing I've drawn for it, and Mipha isn't even my favorite character... :'3

Miiiiiiiipha! She looks fantastic! x3 I seriously adore all of the colors you used here. They're so vibrant!

Thank you! She was kinda fun to draw, but the details are inaccurate since I stopped caring. xD; Glad you like the colors though, those were fun to work with

Even though she's not your favourite character, I think you did her justice. Nice work, especially with the little details such as the fins (which are drawn phenomenally by the way), the bits of jewellery and her sash. Also, the cute little 'frame' around it, which is that extra step further to make it an all-round lovely piece.

Now... I do have a couple of little 'criticisms', but please remember that you've done an amazing job with this!
Firstly, her trident. It's... well, way too short;Β  Link is a just over a head taller than Mipha, and the Lightscale trident is nearly twice as long as he is high. Not too much of a niggle though, since if you drew it to scale... well. This picture would be REALLY stretched out! Perhaps it's extendable? ()

Secondly... her proportions. Zora in BotW typically have longer torsos, and shorter, almost stubby legs. Again, not too much of a problem unless you're aiming for total accuracy.

So yeah. It's lovely to see Mipha drawn by you. I know our opinions on her contrast quite greatly (she IS my favourite), so that just makes me appreciate the effort all the more. Thank you for posting this.

P.S. Have you had the chance to play through the Champions' Ballad yet? It unveils that bit more behind all their characters, particularly with their diaries. I hope you and your family are doing well Phoenix!

Thanks! There are a ton of inaccuracies here and there that I didn't really care about because I admittedly have no patience for drawing overly-complex and ornate characters like her. :/ Her design is super adorable, though, which is why I wanted to try, but who knows if I'll do it again...

And yeah I absolutely loathe drawing weapons for some reason? :'3 I think I made it so short by accident because I didn't want to - as you said - make the picture extremely long, and I immediately lost patience with drawing the trident... eh. I'll never do that again. As for the legs, you're right; I'm just... not good with anatomy in general, legs especially, so that's the part I like least (along with the trident). Thanks for the input, if I ever draw her again I'll keep it in mind!

I haven't gotten to the DLC yet. I've purchased it, but I started my file over, so I'll have to do the Divine Beasts again before I can get to the Champions' Ballad. I'm curious to see what it's like.

No worries. I wouldn't worry too much about 'inaccuracies' since really, unless you -are- the original artist, you can't get it exact. And besides, like you say she is an incredibly complex character to draw, particularly with all the bits of unique jewellery on her! Well, if you DO give Mipha another go, I'll definitely be interested to see it (and spam an essay at you )!

Hmm... The thing is here, you drew the Lightscale Trident near perfectly (details and such) aside from the size; it kinda looks like a baton here. Or maybe a giant dinner-fork to prod Link with.
But yeah, you made a great effort, so though you hated it... I think you did it well. I can appreciate that it's an obscene amount of work though!

Now for the anatomy thing... I'll repeat this until I am blue in the face Phoenix; you are GREAT at anatomy! Mipha and her fellow Zora have naturally odd-proportions compared to what you're used to drawing though, so don't think you're 'not good' simply because in this case you made it more... 'typical'. Honestly, I think it's only readily apparent to me because she's my favourite (and am working with herΒ  character in a couple of things),Β  so I'm not really the benchmark audience... if that makes any sense at all.

Oh okay. If you've put it on Master Mode, I'd recommend you really stock up on Lynel stuff (and thirty minute potions) before starting 'them' (you'll know what I mean). It's definitely great if you're interested in the Champions, and want more info/memories. Have fun, and thank you.
