A fun little informational poster on the amphorans I've been working on during my spare time. (I've changed the design a little bit since last drawing [link] - the feet are now modified 'hands', to reflect a more arboreal evolutionary past.)I'll have it finished and colored sometime.

You are correct - but I haven't thought about how that'd effect their view of reality. I figure that they'd have a favoured third - like our being right or left handed - which they would lead with when walking, fighting, etc. But how a potential 360 degree view of life would effect a being - I dunno.

Great to see this guy back! He is perhaps my favorite of your various sophonts. I'm totally lovin' that somewhat leathery exoskeletal look to his limbs, and it will come to no surprise to you that I adore his decorative headgear. The mouth design is pretty cool as well. Do you think swallowing against gravity would pose a problem, though? Or does he have some sort of peristalsic action (or some other mechanism) to counteract that?
Off topic: after going without my mailbox key for over a week, I finally made it into my mail and was happy to find my copy of "Jan's Atomic Heart." I quite enjoyed it, and I believe I'll send you a more detailed note of my impressions of it, if you don't mind.

Yeah, he might be mine, too. I really want to do a comic with these guys playing 'the local color' as some humans get into intergalactic crime shenanigans... but I've got too much on my plate right now, as it is.
With the exoskeleton, he's got one, but he's also got a layer of skin on top of it (I think is how it'd work). I've thought about how the underslung mouth (with three muscle-y rough radula instead of jaws), and I think it'd just have to have some sort of peristalsic action. Drinking might not be possible, though, with this sort of lipless jawless upside-down action... so perhaps they're simply very efficient with their moisture?
