Playing around with DALL-E (courtesy of ChatGPT), I asked it for some concept cover artwork for fictional crossover-sequels of classic novels.

I do actually have a vague idea in mind to write a story that's a crossover-sequel to both "The Secret Garden" and "Heidi", so thought I might as well ask it to create a cover - just for inspiration.

Out of about 60 generated images, most were very bad, but I quite liked these two designs. That's Mary Lennox in the middle, with Heidi and Klara Sesemann either side of her. The landscaped garden belongs to the Frankfurt boarding school where Mary Lennox befriends Klara, and then they spend time in the Alps with Heidi over the summer, which are depicted further up and back.

Pity it kept making all the images in a square format, rather than portrait like most books are...

Just to re-iterate: I actually DO have an idea to write this novel, these AI-generated images are solely some early fun inspiration and would not be used if I ever wrote this book.
