I ran into some of my olden animations, from 4-5 years ago, that I drew on my phone in StickDraw. Gathered them all up into a loop... then realized it's too long, so I split it into two, and will post the 2nd tomorrow, to keep my daily posting streak going.
My animation skills have changed quite a bit since then, but there is things still in common xD
And, yes, that origami bit is the one that predated this one:

Back then, most of these individual animations took me half an hour to one hour maybe, and I was doing it on the phone with a stylus xD
But I got faster with time, after I got used to the tools, and for example, that rose opening took only a few minutes.

Yes, animation is magical
Keeping to simple shapes like circles or stickmen at first is a good idea. I know it can be tempting to just start drawing some complex characters, but don't do it until you get comfortable with creating motion. But I guess you know how that ends up now xD
