actually, that is katakana. And in English it says: eriku, with a prolonged pronunciation of the k on ku.
私の名前はエリックです。in english is
watashi no namae wa erikku desu. but the pronunciation is watash no namai wa eriku des.

When you are older (older that 10), men use boku 僕 to refer to themselves, and women uses watashi 私.

....btw, I'm japanese. 僕は日本人だ。
