This is the first design draft of Aurora Lula-moon Fawkes, Raine's mother. I'm still working out what the final design will be but this is generally the look I'm going for i believe. My biggest issue with this design is the design of the veil/ scarf thing that is hovering around her shoulders.

This character is another of my RWBY oc's which will appear in more of the photo op pieces i'll be working on. That being said her veil acts as her weapon of choice, its name is "Aurora Borealis" after the northern lights. It acts as a conduit for her spell casting and as a flexible, multipurpose weapon. It is made of threads infused with Dust which is why it kinda hovers above her shoulders instead of draping down over them. The problem I have with it is the design feels too colorful when her affinity is ice. It seems like the color scheme is out of place even though that is how the northern lights appears. A blanket of shifting colors against a nearly black skyline. I wanted something that could represent that but my color blending skills are sub par at best so this piece was an attempt at learning to blend better with Manga Studio. I still have a lot to learn about the program i use but any advice from anyone who uses MS 5 would be appreciated. and any ideas on how I can better represent the character would be fine as well.

Also This is my first hand made background. I know it is horrible but if you look at it as a thumbnail it isn't so bad ^_^.
