Colored version of Alexx: Lounging in the Grass forAgain, congrats to for being the second of two, full-color art prize winners for my 4000 page view contest.
I had a great time working on this piece. Took me 7 hours to render in CP and about 30 minutes in Photoshop for touch-ups/grass.
I added the grass in photoshop because it's a lot easier than doing it with colored pencils. I know it sounds lazy, but I've painted so much grass and landscape stuff at the museum, that I just can't bear to do in in colored pencil. Photoshop does the trick just as nicely.
I must say that I'm becoming a fan of hybridization; literally combining my colored pencil drawings with digital components. It makes for an interesting piece.
I'll host more contests in the future...basically once my schedule clears up.

Well we will start having a mega Sliplining that will go on for at least 6 weeks.
