Haha you know he kinda reminds me of MANOTAUR, THE MANLY MINOTAUR. But more of a rogue Aragorn version of the manly MANISHLY MANLY race.

He seems more like a pseudo-manotaur to me.
Like a DIpper kid grew up and ran away and lives in the woods and reeeaally tries to fit in but he never can so he got this pet bird.

I never really get asked that, so do you mind if I go into detail?
The sketch is done in red mechanical pencil (because I love that stuff and because graphite, in my opinion, looks bad under watercolors and it smears)
Then there's a few layers of watercolors over that.
And for the detail outlines I used a brown ink pen, and dipped a nib pen into watercolors for the ground and background plants.
And then I walked outside and my dog jumped at me and smeared who knows what near the antler, as a final touch.

Yeah! I had never even seen it before either until like last year! I want to say it was in a Sanrio store or something of the sort? But it was just a little box of colored leads and I happened to have a pencil the right size. I've really only started using them recently though, and I'm really enjoying working with it.
