Description
A commision for and her Oc Yazad. I really enjoyed drawing this guy because it's rare for me to draw arabic/persian motives and it's something new
EDIT:
This character is close to persian look. I mean he is not persian but if I wrote he is japanesee you'd probably notice that his clothes is not japanese, if I'd say he is european, you might say, : nope because he is yellow.
So just let me quote the commisioner :
"Actually, he is not "Persian" as he is a part of a completely fictional world I built. He's not going to be completey Persian or Indian because his design is a mix of various things."

As an actual person with unadulterated Persian heritage, this actually caught my eye. I can tell you that the eagle is a prominent symbol in Persian culture. Cyrus the Great symbolized himself with the Shahbaz or the Royal Eagle. Also, contrary to popular belief, many Iranians, especially full Iranians, do indeed resemble Eastern Europeans and Caucasians. By Caucasians, I mean those who hail from the Caucasus Mountains, such as Armenians (who are surprisingly similar to Iranians), Azerbaijanis, and even people from Chechnya. Persians also typically have wavy hair, which is a trait of the Caucasus' peoples. As for the skin tone in the character, it is typically northern Iranians who have very pale tones due to the fact that Northern Iran is actually very mountainous and infamous for punishing winters. The southern lands are hotter and result in darker tones. Also, when it comes to eye and hair color, it is typical for Iranians to have varying colors, but not like the rainbow! And I'll think I'll stop here, even though I can talk about the matter all time long.
I praise the artist who created the marvelous masterpiece as well of the creator of the character. Though I have seen a few weaknesses during my would-be critique, the strengths outweigh them.

I am impressed by your vast knowledge regarding the subject, it was really informative to read this.
Though, when I designed him, I didn't intend to make a "Persian" person, I just implemented some Persian elements in the design. Therefore, you will find things that "won't fit" in a typical Persian stereotype. Shahinaz (the falcon) was actually something I used from Arabian culture, where falcons are used as hunting assistants.

Oh by the way, the words Persian and Iranian are practically synonymous. I personally would not say that there is "mutt" mixture, which implies unknown ancestry. And yes, I did my research, though it was already rather...innate.

I think he looks really cool. And I guess it is kinda tricky in giving a character like him a foreign origin while drawing him in anime style. It happens alot in popular anime so I don't think you'd be the first to have trouble. Either way I still like him. Great job. ^_^
