Where did you draw the initial graphics before animating it?

I drew them by hand on paper then scanned them in. I'm trying to learn how to use my tablet better, but it's a pain.

Alright I see. In flash, you can just build the graphics in Illustrator, and build the separate pieces. Bring the pieces into Flash, place them correctly, then animate. Or, do you not know how to do that with this class?
I'm not sure what they do and don't teach you.

Nope, we didn't go through those steps. I basically drew the each frame (except the background) with pencil, paper, and a lightbox. Then I scanned each into Flash's library, placed them, and colored them w/ flash. I know now that you can use other programs to import images to flash, but didn't back then.

Thanks. Sadly this project was done months ago, i'll put the final product up soon. Also, i have that book, been reading it here and there, great stuff. Thanks for the advice, i'll make use of it in my next animation.

Thanks. I need more practice, but hopefully we'll see more.

Tryin to help a bro out, but apparently in an effort to grub money from us DA won't let me write a critique without a subscription which i have NO plans of getting... So I'll just type it up here instead, sorry for the inconvenience.
From what I can see, as a first attempt it isn't bad. The arm motion is pretty natural, and everything is consistent.
The only real complaints I have is it's a little stiff, particularly the spine, feet (which are a BITCH to draw anyway) and the right leg.
The shoulder and chest motion is fairly good, over all I'd say the upper body is pretty spot on for a casual stroll, but the lower body is just a little too stiff.
I'd say just loosen it up a little, and don't be afraid to over-exaggerate.
But again, for a first attempt at animation, it's pretty good.
Oh and I guess DA has a star system for critiques too? Fuck that noise, I'll use asterisks...
For a first attempt, I give this...
***ΒΊΒΊ
Three Asterisks out of Five.

Yea, my instructor said it was stiff too ( but he was a dick about it). I appreciate you taking the time to look it over. I'll send you a note when the final product is done.

No problem, bro I like lending a hand when I can.
Yeah.. instructors like to take it as a personal insult if things aren't perfect the first time, It's like they forget they were beginners at one point too.
But yeah, I look forward to the final one.
