Manx celebrated their 21st Anniversary in 1980, so a new ident was commissioned. It introduces an iconic colour scheme for the triskelion based upon, yes, the colours of the Manx flag. This ident oversaw some big changes in the fabric of ITV in that two franchises had gone and three were in. ATV, Westward, and Southern was gone. In their place was Central (ATV continued), TSW, and TVS. Second, Channel Four had launched 11 months later. Manx would contribute to its programming output. And third came newfound existence of a brand new national breakfast service named TV-AM one year and a month later. This was the start of the Golden Age of ITV.
