[link]I couldn't have been more than 3 or 4 when I lost my parents. No, don't feel sad for me. I hardly remember back then. Just fleeting memories of something a child could hardly understand. But now, now that I have born witness with my own eyes the trials for the people of that time it all becomes very clear. I did not know them, no more than I would know the brave individuals I have met on this journey to the past. I do now, however, know what they fought for and I too will fight. To protect the ones I love. To protect my home. To protect our world of Vana'diel.
Blarg fluff tiem is nao. This is one of those drawings that pops into your head and possesses you until it's completed, forbidding you to work on anything else in the meantime. I stayed up late again working, but tonight I think I'll actually be able to sleep well. XD
I really tried hard to paint this one. I think the background is... maybe it could use a little work. Any feedback and criticism is very welcome!

At first glance on the thumbnail I thought it was a 3D render XD
The tear and expression are really good, the flowers perfect it!
I love how its a warm glow, and makes it a happy-sad kinda mood.
A tick of criticism? Well maybe its just me but...the sky could have more of a gradient from lighter to darker purple (in my mind anyways XD), more of a sunset-ish, lonely, sad ending kinda thing. But what do I know?

Yeah I wasn't 100% happy with the background as a whole. =/ I need to work more on those. Maybe just painting scenes without people in them or something.

It's just something I wrote for this pic. I'm not terribly good at writing. ._.; I have a brief story made for my character but not a lot to do with it.

LOVE character backstories! This turned out really well, and I think the background works just fine. I like that it looks a little hazy and blurry, as though it's how the Tarutaru is seeing things through her tears. So sad.

Omg I totally started reading that thinking the story was yours LOL.
The background might use another element or something, but it's really fine without it. It's still got some identity to it, and looks in dimension with the character, which is great.
That aside, what a wonderful look! It has a very classic painting style going on, which is really great to see. Looks like you would hang it on the wall of some really elegant room with white walls, carpet, and furniture.

That's good. Atm I'm lookin arround for a part time job for between now and the end of summer (if I'm lucky, I'll get the job I applied for at the blockbuster near my house). With the way I am, when I actually get a job, if I'm late I'll probably be freaking out like crazy.
