Description I'm not sure how I can describe this, but it is one of my favourites. =] I got experimental this past school year, cause I've stuck with digital and just ballpoint pen sketches for a while, and came out with a few pieces done on wood. I sketch it out, then burn into it with a soldering iron ((I have since learned that there are better tools.. I just need to by one. Teacher didn't tell me that till later. Said I needed to learnt he hard way first. =/)) and then painting with watercolours. I like the effect.

I just have to say I LOVE all of these! The lines and colors are great, and the depth of the burnt parts and the wood grain showing through just makes it really interesting. Plus I love the eyelashes.

thanks! I wish it looked as good as it does in person. :/

try it!!! before I burned, I just used ballpoint pen. If you're going to use the pen, though, just make sure it's soft wood so your lines are smooth. and you can use any wood. it doesn't have to be pine. pine's just easy to burn. =]

thank yooou!

I haven't seen artwork on wood very often o.o Very interesting. It's lovely, too, has a good bit of emotion in it... though she looks more like she's pouting than crying.

Oh wow! I never would have thought of a technique like this, but the outcome is very nice. You're going to be doing more, yes?

Thanks! Believe me, it looks better in person. I got the idea after seeing some of Audrey Kawasaki's works. She does oil on wood but I loved seeing the grain come through. And a lot of the stuff I was doing at the time was erotic (sketches and what not) and it drew me to her even more.

and yes. lots more, methinks. I want to get the tool my teacher was talking about. That way I can put a lot of detail into it.
