More BEU/brawler game awesomeness courtesy of PrimeOp. Back when you posted these at the start of this year, I loved how exaggerated you made them look while somehow keeping them looking alright. Abnormal yet normal, if you will. Five months later, that opinion still stands.

Thanks, because that's the kind of look I was going for. Abobo rarely looked distinctive in certain revivals of the game, like Battletoads & DD and the Neo Geo game. It's always fun to mess around with the line between realistic and exaggerated, especially when it's a character like Abobo.

He's definitely an Abobo headswap in the original game (nice eye, most people don't catch that!), but I'd probably try to give him his own sprite so this Abobo can stay more unique. Thanks for reminding me that I should make one, though!

Double Dragon was made in the late 80's so that's probably who they based it on. Bootleg Mr. T characters were everywhere back then.

I was trying so hard to make sure he had a super-mean face. I think I may have made a meaner face than that Lord J (Brawl Brothers/Rushing Beat Ran) sprite I made a while back. Now HE was truly mean-muggin' in pixel form.

Truth! As much as these are the Abobos that I like the most, I might take shots at the later Abobos. I might even take a shot at their Double Dragon Neon outfits, but keeping this same style.

Thanks! I tried to keep him from looking like a default muscle-man, so I hope that came through in the sprite.
