Remember... it's our little secret!
Despite having a ton of Athrun pictures I already want to draw, I've decided to join the Manga Art Challenge 100 themes too, since I'm forever looking for more things to draw about Athrun! For more information on the challenge, click here ---> [link]
Theme #53 is Keeping a Secret...
Against his better judgement, Athrun finds himself keeping Meer's secret out of pity for the poor girl whose one true wish is to be like her idol, Lacus Clyne. However, keeping what seems to be a harmless little secret for the sake of unity among the people of PLANT, causes tension between Athrun and his friends. Eventually, though, this same secret helps to open Athrun's eyes to Chairman Gilbert Dullindal's treachery.
Athrun is such a caring person...
BTW I don't own the characters, but I drew the picture all by myself!

I love Athrun's relationship with Meer - she's always dragging and pushing him around, and, even though he protests after a fashion, he allows her to bully him around for the most part, just because it's too much effort to get past all her boundless energy.

Athrun needs cheerful friends they can pull him out of that black hole he sometimes he ends up in.

I wonder if Athrun is good at keeping secrets?
I know I am.....and if someone wants to know, I just say:
"What? I have no idea what your are talking about. Me? hiding something? seriously,I know nothing, now leave me alone....or else,something bad will happen and it will hurt you more than me."

Yup, Athrun is usually a very mysterious person. He's also used to hiding his thoughts and feelings from others.
Pressed for some kind of embarrassing secret, though... he might lose his cool... a little.

When I look at this, I can just imagine Meer telling him "Shhhhhhh...!"
But you know...what else can he do but keep her secret? I'm sure Athrun thinks it's wrong for her to take on that job, but things would be worse if her secret was revealed.

Exposing Meer's secret would have meant exposing the Chairman's plot to calm down the people of PLANT. No one would have believed his words, then, but at that point, when Athrun still had a choice, it would have caused more bad things to happen than good. 
And all the while, Meer is clinging to Athrun, pretending to be his fiancee, not knowing (or caring) that the engagement's been off for more than two years! 
And poor Athrun looks like a cornered animal when she comes leaping at him!

Heheheh, I don't know how long Athrun would be able to survive Meer's sparkling, bubbly fangirling before he would become totally stressed out, but I love to watch him splutter under her ogling gaze and groping arms!
