Personality :
Masahiko is a kind person, often going out of his way to help others and taking care of members of the Sashimi. He diligently trains everyday to get stronger (often using insane ways to do so). He takes care of those in his village as well as visitors to Steel Cave. Masahiko is headstrong and follows his belief that one should balance time for fun and time for hard work.

Even though he is a samurai, he absolutely loves to cook; it is one of his passions. You can see Masahiko eating or cooking very often. He's a great cook as he cooks everyday~ (and he loves to make seasonal dishes). His specialty is seafood and soup. Because of his love for seafood, he also fishes often.

Masahiko fights to protect his family; as such, if anyone harms his family he will surely find the culprit(s) and teach them a lesson.

Every once in a while, Masahiko likes to have a good spar.

Masahiko is quite a romantic (Lol)

History:
Masahiko grew up fairly carefree (even though he had strict training), swimming in lakes, cooking with his mother, and training with his father. During his training, Masahiko was taught hand-to-hand combat, swordsmanship, and he learned Hydro Cannon. He had begun his training as soon as he could hold a bokuto (age 2 1/2); one of the things his father always told him was "Clear your mind, do not let your emotions control you." His father explained that if he were calm, his movements would be harder to read and he would be able to read his opponents moves. When all the other boys in the village got angry, he stayed calm, making them even more angry. This is how, when he played with his cousins and other boys in the village, swordfighting with bokuto to see who was the strongest to impress the girls, he would almost always win the fights...though he was scolded each time for injuring his opponent. This was how he lived for his early childhood at it was a great time of his life, until, when he was 8 (almost 9), his mother and father were killed. Being the son of the leader of a well-known samurai clan, Masa had an arranged marriage to the heiress of another samurai clan. Disgruntled elders in that family did not approve of the marriage, believing it would bring a great disaster to their house but the leader had agreed to the marriage. The elders initially wanted to assassinate Masahiko but later plotted the genocide of the Hagane family to stop any Hagane from seeking revenge. A messenger sent from the elders told that the arranged marriage had been canceled. This signaled the assassins in waiting to begin the attack. The surprise attack caught some of the family off guard and they were taken out; all the children (masa's cousins) were unable to defend themselves. Masahiko was protected by his parents so he was not killed by the assassins but it cost them their life. They knew they did not have much time left so they told Masahiko that he was to take his sister (who was 3) and flee. He was to return when they were not sought after to retrieve items from the hidden room in the manor. After they he had done that he was on his own to take care of his younger sister. At this point they quickly hid Masahiko in a secret compartment; He watched his parents being murdered..

Steel Cave:
Masahiko became the Samurai Captain of Steel Cave; he tried his best to keep the village safe everyday, whether it be from pokemon invasions or from natural disasters, Masahiko was there to help. In the cave, he fell in love with a girl who worked at the grocery store he frequented (often buying crates of ume to make into Umeboshi), eventually getting married with her. Himawari had his child, Umeko.

The Kami War:
When the war started, Masahiko immediately stopped what he was doing in fear that his family was in danger; he blasted into action, sprinting home as fast as he could. As he rushed home, his shell that he was famous (possibly infamous) for wearing was cracked by a falling stalactite (it was later crushed by a boulder, shattering into pieces) but that didn't stop him, he continued on home, and to his relief his wife and daughter were fine. He immediately helped them evacuate but not before going to make sure Himi's Ojisan and Obasan were ok-- a huge boulder had fell down onto their home, killing them. Masahiko calmed a distraught Himawari enough to get her to safety, promising that he would give them a proper burial after the war ended. Masahiko, being the captain, went back to save people from the wreckage. As he was moving a boulder, a stray lightning bolt from one of the Kami struck him directly in the right eye, destroying his vision, but oddly enough, he didn't lose the eye. If one looks into that eye, it will be a dark blue color devoid of life.

-Breaking News- Masahiko's grandfather, Takehiko, is in fact a survivor of both the initial attack on the Hagane family and the Kami War! Masahiko is now studying from Takehiko's teachings.

The jewel on his necklace is Mystic Water; it was his mother's treasure. It strenghtens his water attacks. --He has given this necklace to his daughter, Umeko--
The shell on his back is a water jug made out of a turtle shell; the bamboo represents blastoises cannons (naturally xD ).
A phrase he likes to use is "An umeboshi a day keeps the doctors away" XD (though it is indeed believed that umeboshi has many health benefits.)
He also says a shortened version of what his father told him,"Clear your mind".
By rotating his cannons to face downwards, he can launch himself great distances using Hydro Cannon (like a rocket launching off the ground).
He does not always have his shell on; this goes for his haori as well(he is mainly like this in his house though).
The volume of water his shell can hold is unknown-
He is captain of the Sashimi Squad AKA the SS or Sashimi (the squad of samurai and ninja that protect the village)
Masahiko is Ambidextrous!
His swordsmanship style is Hagane-Ryu (his family style; he has mastered it)
