Well. There was this spool of thread and a needle involved. Lol. I really don't know how to answer that. I make clothing for all my Scalemates in the same way I make clothing for any plushie.

lol
thats still an answer, so tuchet!
i was wondering like...
umm...
how do i word this so it makes sense...
umm...
ok
did you make it like you would normal cloths (taking masurements and all that), or did you use a pattern of some sort?

PrinceOfRage In reply to aspcarox [2012-09-18 20:59:59 +0000 UTC]
That's a much better way of wording it ^_^ I take measurements of the scalemate and then try to come up with an idea in my head of how the garment should look on the scalemate an dhow it would fit together much like I would design for a full size human. I then make a paper pattern based on my imagination, test it out, modify, test, modify etc. Then I'll cut it out of a cheaper fabric and sew it up to make sure it'll fit, modify as necessary, and then cut out of the final fabric and sew it up/finish seams, etc. All my clothes for scalemates are removable so I'll use hidden velcro in a lot of areas much like fashion doll clothing.

I plan to make a scalemate plush soon.
But I'm not the best at handsewing. (and I can't use a machine to sew for my life)
But I'm doing OKAY on making a nepeta-blood-color squiddle, so I might be able to make one and not fail..

FreshEggs12 In reply to PrinceOfRage [2012-06-22 19:59:18 +0000 UTC]
Well I don't know how long it'll take, because I don't have much fabric, and I've been putting off my squiddle for a long time XD
But I might work on it tonight, while I'm thinking about it

PrinceOfRage In reply to FreshEggs12 [2012-06-22 20:10:48 +0000 UTC]
Well most the plushies I make take about 1/4 yard of fabric if that helps any. And time depends on how fast you sew, the complexity, if you're using a premade pattern or drafting your own, etc. But I'm still excited to see if/when you do it!

FreshEggs12 In reply to PrinceOfRage [2012-06-22 20:20:01 +0000 UTC]
Okay, well I'm sure our local fabric store will have some scraps or something that I could use.
And I sew... Not fast, but not really slow.. Just average. And I actually enjoy sewing, I just often have higher priorities. And I think I'm going to use this one pattern that I think you suggested. (at least the creator. they have an animated tinkerbull icon)

PrinceOfRage In reply to Aru---Chan [2012-06-22 19:48:26 +0000 UTC]
The same way any plushie is made. You can use a pattern already on the internet such as the one offered from or you can make your own! Mine is based on the Eyes5 pattern (which has been taken down). I no longer have a copy of it, I just commit the pattern to memory. Study the construction of other scalemates and work out your work pattern if you don't find one you like, I promise it comes easily with just a little trial and error.
