I go about doing lineart completely differently, but I'm tempted to try this on my next picture, or maybe the current one I'm working on, as it looks pretty bad right now and could use some repairing. Usually my method is all manual tracing with the Pen tool from the Lineart layer with an S6 stabilizer, but because I'm a very sketchy and unstable artist, it gets very bumpy in places I don't want it to, since I use a Wacom Pen Tablet for most of my work as opposed to a mouse. Your approach here is more of a vector, but because it's in sai, it isn't a true vector given it has pixels and bitmap as opposed to points and paths. I still really like it though, it looks a heck of a lot easier than Illustrator vectors. Thank you for making this tutorial! Totally gonna try this!

This is really helpful. If I had any artistic skill, I'd definitely use this.
