Description
It was a clear and sunny MarchSaturday and Kabia was still hard at work. He had stayed up all night working and Joey had stayed up with him, trying to get Kabia to sleep. Joey sighed stared at Kabia's fingers as they flew over the keyboard.
"We should go do something." Joey suggested after a forever of silence between the two.
"Like what?" Kabia asked, not looking up from his work.
"I don't know, go on a date somewhere." Joey shrugged.
"Where would you like to go?" Kabia asked a hint of amusement in his voice.
"I don't know, just somewhere. You can decide." Joey told him. A sudden idea popped into the brunettes head.
"So that means I can choose anyplace I want." Kabia reiterated.
"Why not?" Joey said.
"Alright then let's go." Kabia declared.
"Really?" Joey asked, not believing that he was finally going on a date with Kabia.
"Yup. Now hurry up or I'm leaving you here." Kabia said as he made his way to the door, Joey on his heels.
"So, where are we going?" Joey asked as they got into Kabia's limo.
"Just wait and find out." Kabia smirked. Joey shrugged and fastened his seatbelt, Kabia doing likewise.
As the limo starting to purr down the road the sleepless night started to take its toll on Joey. By the time they had reached the freeway Joey was fast asleep on Kabia's shoulder. Kabia looked at the blonde and a small smiled played on his lips. Joey looked so innocent right then with none of his big talk or smirks to disguise it. His mouth was slightly open and Kabia could see a small puff of air rise in the chilly march air as Joey exhaled. Joey's eye lids fluttered softly, like a moth trying to decide to stay or fly away. For some reason Kabia never wanted this to end, he wanted to keep looking at this innocent new Joey he had discovered.
A lock of golden hair fell into Joey's eyes. Kabia reached over with his free arm and sweep the hair from Joey's eyes. Joey stirred slightly then curled up closer to Kabia, shivering.
Kabia sighed and grabbed a blanket from underneath the seats, throwing over Joey and himself. Since there was nothing else to do the brunette entertained himself with tracing Joey's features with a feather light touch as not to wake the sleeping blonde.
They reached their destination in about an hour. As the limo pulled to a stop Kabia shook Joey lightly.
"Time to get up." Kabia said. Joey just ignored him and curled up tighter, clinging onto Kabia's arm. Kabia sighed and shook Joey a little harder. That failed too.
Kabia sighed and looked at Joey. Very, very gently Kabia pressed his lips against Joey's. Kabia could feel Joey's eye lids flutter open as they brushed his cheek. Joey stared at Kabia in shock.
Kabia slowly pulled away and opened his eyes to find Joey's golden ones staring back at him.
"That got you up." Kabia said trying to sound aloft but not quite hiding his breathlessness. Joey looked away blushing deeply.
"So, where are we?" a very red blonde asked.
"Come and see." Kabia replied as he opened the door. Joey climbed out of the limo with Kabia right behind him, waiting to see his reaction.
Joey gasped and stared helplessly back at Kabia who just smirked and folded his arms across his chest.
"Welcome to Horror Land Joey." Kabia crowed. Horror Land looked as though someone had opened Pandora's Box and had trapped everything here. Every nightmare imaginable seemed to dwell here.
"But…" Joey said weakly already feeling faint.
"How about we go on some rides?" Kabia suggested smirking hugely as he took Joey hand. Joey nodded weakly and followed Kabia to the first of the rides.
As the ride assistant buckled them in Joey gulped hard, fighting the urge to run off. Kabia smirked and looked over at his blonde.
"You ready?" Kabia asked.
"Do I have to do this Seto?" Joey asked, trying not to whine…or scream for that matter.
"You said I could choose anyplace I wanted and I choose this place." Kabia pointed out. Joey just nodded and looked straight ahead.
The ride slowly started to move. It was a roller coaster with fake ghost and witches jumping out at you at every corner. Though it wasn't that scary Joey was still shaking by the end of it.
"Did you like the first ride?" Kabia asked, clearly enjoying his fear.
"Yeah…" Joey said sarcastically, still shaking.
"Then let's go to the next one." Kabia declared. Joey nodded and followed the brunette, trying to act tough.
After a few more rides Joey's shaking turned so bad that he couldn't stand. Luckily Joey had managed not to scream in any of them…yet.
Kabia sighed and gave a small chuckle as he sat down next to Joey. The blonde looked at Kabia and smiled slightly.
"You sure you want to go on more rides?" Kabia asked. Even though Kabia enjoyed seeing Joey scared it was sort of painful to watch Joey force himself on all of these rides.
"Of course!" Joey said as he stood up. Though Joey hated those rides he was not about to give Kabia the satisfaction of him giving up. Kabia just sighed and followed Joey to the haunted house.
The haunted house was really an old insane asylum. It was rumored to be haunted by the people they had tried to torture into sanity here. The whole reason Horror Land had been built was because of this asylum. It was the scariest part of Horror Land. Inside where actual bones from long ago inmates, guys with chainsaws, real torture devices with actors hooked up to them, and so much more. After dark was the scariest time to see the insane asylum everyone said and it was probably true.
"Are you positive you want to do this?" Kabia asked again as they approached the forbidding building.
"Yup…" Joey replied, his voice slightly shaking.
They two of them walked up to the door which opened on its own and stepped inside.
The door swung shut, sealing them in complete darkness. Joey curled his hands into fist, his nails digging into his palms, as they stood there.
A small light appeared in the sea of blackness. Both of them followed it to the end of the hallway and down the stairs. The lower they went the more stale and cool the air became.
As they reached the final steps the small flickering light sputtered out. The two looked around and their hands sought for each other but they couldn't find the other.
"Seto?" Joey called out. Nothing but silence answered his question. Joey bit his lip in vain attempt not the scream.
"Joey?" Kabia hissed. "Joey, this is not funny." After a few more minutes of the deafening silence Kabia was forced to believe that Joey was gone. Kabia swore underneath his breath and started to make his way through the utter dark.
A muted screaming reached Kabia's ears as he continued further into the darkness. Kabia tried to block the sound and continued further. A small pinprick of light reached Kabia's eyes and he strived to reach it. The closer Kabia got to the light the louder the muted screaming became.
Kabia finally reached the place where the light was coming from. It was filtering through a window in a closed door. A shade was pulled down so all Kabia could see where shadows of people moving inside the room.
Kabia took a deep breath and opened the door. The white light blinded him for a minute. It was another few minutes before Kabia realized the muffled screaming was gone.
Kabia looked around the sterile white room, trying to figure out where he was. The room looked like some sort of lab filled with scalpels, knife, and a table. As icy blue eyes dissected the room they came upon something that looked familiar. It was a head of blonde hair…
Joey! Kabia thought instantly. He ran over to the corner and found Joey chained to the wall and gagged. The brunette quickly removed the gag.
"Seto!" Joey exclaimed as soon as the gag was removed.
"Are you alright?" Kabia asked worriedly.
"I'm fine." Joey said. "Just a little tied up."
"Your lip is bleeding." Kabia pointed out.
"I…well, I kinda bit it a few ago." Joey admitted. Kabia sighed and quickly unchained his blonde with a pair of keys found on the wall.
The two of them found a trapdoor and followed that to the main level. As soon as they were both standing their hands immediately sought each other and held on tight. The rest of the insane asylum was full of clanging pipes, torture machines, tortured screams, torture devices, and more torture. Through the whole entire thing Joey and Kabia never let go of each other hand.
By the time they had got out of the insane asylum Kabia was shaking slightly and Joey passed out on the grass.
Kabia smiled and laughed as he picked up the blonde in his arms. Though Joey was heavier than Mokuba Kabia didn't mind; it was his fault for bringing Joey to Horror Land in the first place.
The limo was out front waiting for them. Kabia place Joey gently in the back seat and crawled in with him. The seats were long and wide enough for both of the boys to curl up on side by side.
Kabia yawned and laid his head on his arm as he stared at Joey's sleeping…passed out face. Once again he looked so innocent and sweet. Kabia smiled to himself and closed his eyes at the same time Joey opened his.
"What's…?" Joey began to ask as he saw Kabia, finally resting.
"Go to sleep Joey." Kabia muttered, too tired to even think up of an insult to call the blonde.
Joey shrugged and laid back down, curling up against Kabia. A small smiled played on Kabia's lips as his arms encircled the blond, pulling him closer to Kabia. Joey opened his eyes really quick and brushed his lips against the brunettes. Kabia sighed and kissed Joey back, unable to help himself.
"Goodnight mutt." Kabia whispered as they broke apart.
"Night." Joey yawned. The two of them was asleep within minutes. Both happily curled up against each other.
At least one good thing happened today. Joey thought to himself as he started to fade off to sleep, I got Seto all to myself.
