After a million years, I've finally revamped the trait sheet for my species, Zodai! Nothing much has changed, I've just included more visual guides and text explanations of different traits!

I'm still writing out dat lore, but here's a quick guide to Zodai:

Zodai are a species of inherently magical beings, descending from the original celestial beings of the Zodiac. They live in the Zodiac Constellation, with solar systems dedicated to each of the Zodiac signs. Zodai are born in the constellation of their Sun sign, and as they grow, they can visit the other constellations of their Moon and Rising signs. The Sun, Moon, and Rising signs -- these three signs make up their appearance, personality, and elemental magic.

The ears, horns, and tails of Zodai are determined by their three signs, and are formed randomly when they are born. Zodai can have different shaped ears, horns and tails if none of their three signs have a specific trait to them, though it is random. Their feet are paws, and can resemble bun paws; hooves are a trait specific to Zodai with Aries, Taurus, and Sagittarius signs, but are rare among those who do not have one of the three signs as their Sun sign. Feathers are common with Libra and Virgo signs, and fins are common with all water signs. Scorpio tails are always braided; only Puritan Scorpios have scorpion tails.

Birthstones are at the center (or navel) of a Zodai's body. Birthstone gems correlate with any number of gems that are related to the Sun sign of the Zodai. The gems can appear cut or shaped in any typical gem fashion, though it is rare to be born with a gem of unique shape, such as a heart or crescent moon. The more decorated or ornate the gem is, the stronger that Zodai is. The gems contain the magic and lifeforce of the Zodai, and if cracked or shattered, the Zodai will become very ill or die. The gem of a Zodai is very precious, as it contains their magical essence. Plebeian Zodai, despite not being as strong as Patricians, are commonly hunted for their gems because of the potential power to harness three elements. Patricians and Puritans protect Plebeian youth and train them to be strong and to defend themselves.

There are three main types of Zodai in existence: Plebeian, Patrician, and Puritan Zodai. Plebeians are the most common type of Zodai, and aso the most cherished by the other two types. Their Sun, Moon, and Rising signs are always different (ex. Cancer Sun, Capricorn Moon, Virgo Rising), giving them more variety in color, physical traits, personality, and range of elemental magic -- it is possible for Plebeian Zodai to learn up to three types of elemental magic, while Patrician and Puritans are limited to two or one. Patricians are born with two of the three signs in the same sign as their Sun (ex. Aries Sun, Moon, and Gemini Rising); this allows them to master one element easily, while maintaining a grasp of the other element. They have a much longer lifespan that Plebeians, and most are born with birthstones that are protected by magical metals. Puritans are the most powerful Zodai, with a lifespan that can only be interrupted by another Puritan. They are few, and each constellation's solar system has a planet governed by one Puritan. Puritans have all three signs in the same sign as their Sun (ex. Scorpio Sun, Moon, and Rising) and express the physical traits, personality traits, and colors of their one sign, and are considered to be the 'pure' version of that sign. They are regarded as living deities amongst all Zodai.
