Simone opened the blinds to her room and sighed in satisfaction.
The sun revealed several bruises and scars on her arms, neck, and face, but the smile on her face bloomed. She turned around and slipped on her costume then walked out to the living room.
Adeli tugged her thread one last time then cut it off with her teeth, she examined her work on the cloak and was happy to see all those years of grandmother teaching her was well paid off.
Chris gave her a thumbs up and went back to his book. For once, he wasn't wearing his hood.
Rose and Eleni were arguing over which TV show they could watch, Simone giggled and snatched the remote, "I'll give this back when you two decide to agree on something."
"Aw, come on!" Rose tried to snatch it back, Simone held it in back of her.
Eleni pouted and crossed her arms, then sunk down into the couch like a small child throwing a tantrum. Simone rolled her eyes and switched the TV channel, "Today marks a day in history for the City."
Everyone turned to the screen. A big crowd was outside of the superhero base, they smirked and nodded at each other.
"Well, better get this over with." Ice Girl pulled her mask on, stood to her feet and skipped to the doorway. Imago rolled her eyes and followed Little Jester, Ghost Girl slipped her cloak on and waited for Crow to follow, he smiled at her then shyly put his cloak back on. She giggled and put her hood on, "I wonder how many people are out there."
Icy pushed the door open and dropped her jaw. Security guards and concrete barriers formed a small area the team could walk on, but even then it didn't seem like enough room. "Imago! Over here!" "Woo! Crow! We love you!" "Hey! Hey! You guys! I'm your biggest fan!"
A huge smile spread on Ghosty's face.
A news reporter woman suddenly jumped over the barrier and held a voice recording device to them, "Loonatix, hi. I'm Debbora Clen, reporter for the ten o'clock news. How does it feel to be here today?"
"Amazing." Simone waved to some nearby fans.
"Kind of exciting really, I never thought we'd be here today." Imago shifted her weight.
"And what about that battle, how difficult was it to win?" The team looked at each other and chuckled.
"Oh, pfff, lady you have no idea." Icy shook her head and smiled.
"We're so used to having kids your age killed or seriously injured in this City, how did you manage to keep yourselves alive?"
"Luck, skills, and superpowers." Chris said shyly, he blushed a little and looked down. Ghosty nudged him playfully, he nudged her back.
The reporter smiled, "What about the villains? We haven't captured them before but records say they've broken out of jails from all over the world. How are you so sure they won't strike again?"
"Obviously, you can't say villains won't strike again. It's highly unlikely, just look at the history before then. The Count, Tarantula, Mr. and Mrs. Doom, the list goes on of all the jail escapees." Ghosty said.
"You seem to know a lot about this City."
"Sometimes I think I know this place with the back of my hand." She smiled.
"You barely survived the first battle, are you prepared for a next?"
"We're ready for anything." Icy threw a punch in the air.
"What about future villains? This City has been known for the second highest rated dangerous criminals in the world, do you think your team, a group of teenagers, could defeat them all?"
"We can't promise that, but we can, however, promise that we'll fight to the end." Crow said proudly.
"Seems like a tough job."

Ghosty shrugged. "What do you expect? The life of a hero isn't the life of paradise. But for every villain there is a hero."
